SE REFIERE A UN POLIMORFO CRISTALINO DEL ACIDO 2-[4-[2-[[(1S,2R)-2-HIDROXI-2-(4-HIDROXIFENIL)-1-METILETIL]AMINO]ETIL]FENOXI]ACETICO QUE SE CARACTERIZA POR SU ESPECTRO DE DIFRACCION DE RAYOS X. TAMBIEN SE REFIERE A UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PREPARACION QUE COMPRENDE HIDROLIZAR 2-[4-[2-[[(1S,2R)-2-HIDROXI-2-(4-HIDROXIFENIL)-1-METILETIL]AMINO]ETIL]FENOXI]ACETATO FOSFATO DE ETILO CON HIDROXIDO DE SODIO, ANADIENDO UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA DE ACIDO FOSFORICO A 40 °C, RECOGER EL ACIDO 2-[4-[2-[[(1S,2R)-2-HIDROXI-2-(4-HIDROXIFENIL)-1-METILETIL]AMINO]ETIL]FENOXI]ACETICO RESULTANTE POR FILTRACION, ANADIENDO UN SOLVENTE MIXTO DE AGUA Y METANOL O METANOL AL SOLIDO HUMEDO Y AGITANDO LA SUSPENSION A UNA TEMPERATURA DE DESDE 40°C HASTA LA TEMPERATURA DE REFLUJO DURANTE 30 MINUTOS A VARIAS HORAS. EL COMPUESTO ES UN ESTIMULANTE DE LOS ß-ADRENORECEPTORES Y PUEDE SER UTIL PARA ALIVIAR EL DOLOR, PROMOVER LA ELIMINACION DE LOS CALCULOS EN LA UROLITIASIS
