Abstract
Description
Claims (14)
- 와이어(wire) 또는 스트립(strip)을 액상 피복재의 욕조부터 상향 통과시키고, 와이어 또는 스트립을 한쌍의 와이핑 패드, 블록 또는 이와 유사한 와이핑 부재 사이로 통과시키면서 와이핑 패드를 와이어 또는 스트립 주위에서 함께 편향시켜 아이어 또는 스트립에 얇은 피복물을 적용하는 방법에 있어서, 와이어 또는 스트립을 와이핑 패드 위에 지지된 냉각액 및 와이핑 패드에 의해 적어도 부분적으로 구성된 바닥을 함유하는 냉각실을 통해 즉시 통과시키고, 냉각액의 스트립을 유입 장치로부터 냉각실을 통해 배출 장치에 연속적으로 통과시킴을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 와이어 또는 스트립을 욕으로부터 냉각실을 통해서 거의 수직으로 상향 통과시키는 방법.
- 제1항 또는 2항에 있어서, 액상 피복재가 금속 또는 금속 합금인 방법.
- 제1 또는 2항에 있어서, 냉각액을 냉각실을 통과하는 와이어 또는 스트립의 이동 방향에 대해 반대 방향으로 냉각실에 도입시키는 방법.
- 와이어 또는 스트립이 그 사이에 적용되어 액상 피복재 욕조로 부터 통과되는 한쌍의 와이핑 패드(wiping pad), 블록 또는 이와 유사한 와이핑 부재 ; 냉각실의 바닥의 적어도 일부분을 구성하는 와이핑 패드로부터 상향으로 연장되는 냉각액용 측벽 및 바닥을 갖는 냉각실(여기서, 냉각실의 한쪽 측벽의 적어도 일부분은 냉각실로부터 냉각액이 배수되도록 바닥으로부터 분리가능하다); 및 냉각실로 부터 냉각액을 독립적으로 유입 및 배출하는 유입 및 배출 장치를 포함함을 특징으로 하는 제1항의 방법을 수행하기 위한 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 한쪽 측벽의 적어도 일부분이 냉각실로 부터 제거가능한 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 제거가능한 측벽이 강성 물질로서 제조되고, 와이핑 패드를 외이어 또는 스트립과 밀접하게 접촉하도록 조이기 위해서 사용하는 이동가능한 블록과의 연결에 의해 그 하부 말단에서 지탱되는 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 제거가능한 벽이 내화성 재료로 제조되고 냉각실에 제거 불가능한 벽에 대한 마찰접촉에 의해 지탱되는 장치.
- 제5항 내지 8항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 제거가능한 벽의 상부 가장자리가 냉각액용 유출 수단을 구성하는 위어(weir)로서 작용하는 장치.
- 제9항에 있어서, 와이핑 패드위의 제거가능한 벽의 상부 가장자리의 높이를 조정하여 냉각실내의 냉각액의 높이를 조절하는 장치.
- 제5 내지 8항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 냉각액 방출 수단이 냉각실로 부터 배출 장치를 통해 방출된 냉각액 및 측벽을 바닥으로 부터 분리 또는 제거함으로써 냉각실로부터 방출된 냉각액을 장치로 부터 수집하여 처리하도록 구성되어 있는 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 냉각액을, 냉각실을 통과하는 와이어 또는 스트립의 이동방향에 대해 반대방향으로 냉각실에 도입시키는 방법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 냉각액 방출 수단이 냉각실로 부터 배출 장치를 통해 냉각액, 및 측벽을 바닥으로 부터 분리 또는 제거함으로써 냉각실로부터 방출된 냉각액을 장치로 부터 수집하여 처리하도록 구성되어 있는 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서, 냉각액 방출 수단이 냉각실로 부터 유출 장치를 통해 방출된 냉각액, 및 측벽을 바닥으로부터 분리 또는 제거함으로써 냉각실로부터 방출된 냉각액을 장치로 부터 수집하여 처리하도록 구성되어 있는 장치.
