Claims (15)
- 실린더 케이싱(22), 상기 케이싱(22) 내부에서 축회전 가능한 실린더(26), 상기 실린더(26)의 상부에 장착되고 회전 가능한 실린더 헤드(27), 상기 실린더 헤드(27) 내부에 제공되는 적어도 하나의 간극(28; aperture), 상기 케이싱(22)에 고정되고, 연관된 포트(ports)를 제공하기 위하여 상기 실린더 헤드(27)에 제공되는 밸브 블록(78; valving block), 상기 실린더(26) 내에서 왕복 가능한 피스톤(50), 각각 적어도 하나의 스로우(45, 47; throw)를 갖는 적어도 두 개의 역회전 크랭크 샤프트(70, 80; contra-rotatable crank shaft), 대응되는 크랭크 샤프트(70, 80)의 각각의 스로우(45, 47) 및 상기 피스톤(50)에 부착되는 커넥팅 로드(48, 49), 상기 실린더(26)에 부착되는 기어 케이지 베이스(32), 각각의 크랭크 샤프트(70, 80)에 고정되고, 반대 방향으로 회전하도록 상기 베이스(32) 상에 회전 가능하게 장착되는 기어 피니언(10, 12), 상기 케이싱(22)에 부착되고, 상기 각각의 기어 피니언(10, 12)이 맞물리는 고정 기어 링(88) 및 상기 기어 케이지 베이스(32)에 연결되는 출력 샤프트(30)를 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 각각의 피니언(10, 12)은 베벨 기어 형상이고, 상기 고정 기어 링(88)은 대응되도록 경사지게 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,크랭크 케이싱(24)이 구비되고, 상기 크랭크 케이싱은 상기 밸브 블록(78)에 인접한 상기 케이싱(22)에 결합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,베어링 레이스(44)를 구비한 상기 기어 케이지 베이스(32)가 각각의 상기 크랭크 샤프트(70, 80)에 구비되는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 기어 케이지 베이스(32)는 상기 출력 샤프트(30)에 연결되도록 구비되는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제4항 또는 제5항에 있어서,상기 기어 케이지 베이스(32)는 상기 밸브 블록(78)에 인접한 상기 실린더(26)의 단부를 형성하는 기어 케이지 크레들(29)에 연결되고, 이에 따라, 작동 시에 상기 고정 기어 링(88)과 맞물린 상기 기어(10, 12)를 구비한 상기 크랭크 샤프트(70, 80)에 의해 상기 기어(10, 12)가 회전함에 따라 상기 실린더(26) 및 상기 피스톤(50)은 길이방향 축을 중심으로 회전하는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제4항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 출력 샤프트(30)는 단순 기계 조인트(simple mechanical joint)에 의해 상기 기어 케이지 베이스(32)에 연결되는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제4항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 출력 샤프트(30)는 유성 기어 어셈블리의 작용으로 상기 기어 케이지 베이스(32)에 연결되는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 밸브 블록(78)은 결과적으로 상기 실린더 헤드(27) 상의 상기 간극(28)에 끼워 맞춰지는 적어도 두 개의 포트를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 실린더 헤드(27)는 내부에 경계를 접하는 상기 간극(28)이 형성된 대응되는 그루브 내부에 수용하도록 순응된 실 링(seal ring)을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 밸브 블록(78)은 내부에 경계를 접하는 상기 입구 및 출구 포트가 형성된 대응되는 그루브(71)에 수용하도록 순응된 실 링(75, 76)을 구비하는 것을 특징 으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 실 링(75, 76)은 상기 실린더 헤드(27)에 대해 편심인(eccentric) 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제10항, 제11항 및 제12항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 그루브(71)는 스프링 블레이드(spring blades)를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제1항 내지 제13항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 실린더(26)는 외부에 냉각 핀(85)을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
- 제1항 내지 제14항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 엔진은 스파크 점화엔진이고, 상기 스파크 플러그는 상기 실린더(26) 내에서 연료의 연소를 점화(trigger)하기 위하여 구비되는 것을 특징으로 하는 로터리 엔진.
