Abstract

Description

보관 시스템으로부터 개체를 회수하기 위한 장치{APPARATUS FOR RETRIEVING UNITS FROM A STORAGE SYSTEM}
본 발명은 보관 시스템으로부터 개체를 회수하기 위한 장치에 관한 것이다. 특히, 하지만 비배타적으로, 본 발명은 적층된 개체의 격자(grid)를 포함하는 상점에 있는 보관 컨테이너 또는 상자를 취급하기 위한 로봇 장치에 관한 것이다.
몇몇 상업적이고 산업적인 활동은 다수의 상이한 제품을 보관하고 회수할 수 있게 해주는 시스템을 필요로 한다. 복수의 제품 라인에 물품을 보관하고 회수하기 위한 공지된 일 시스템은, 통로에 배치되어 있는 선반 열에 보관 상자 또는 컨테이너를 배치하는 것을 포함한다. 각 상자 또는 컨테이너는 한 제품형의 복수의 제품을 담는다. 통로는 선반 열 사이의 접근을 제공하며, 그래서 필요한 제품은 통로에서 순회하는 작업자 또는 로봇에 의해 회수될 수 있다. 그러나, 제품에 접근하기 위해 통로 공간을 제공해야 할 필요가 있다는 것은, 그러한 시스템의 보관 밀도가 비교적 낮게 됨을 의미한다. 다시 말해, 제품의 보관에 실제 사용되는 공간의 양은 보관 시스템 전체에 필요한 공간의 양에 비해 비교적 작게 된다는 것이다.
보관 밀도에 있어서 상당한 개선을 제공하는 대안적인 방안으로, 컨테이너는 상하로 적층되며 적층체는 열을 지어 배치된다. 컨테이너는 위에서 접근되며, 그래서 열 사이의 통로가 필요 없게 되며 또한 주어진 공간에 더 많은 컨테이너가 보관될 수 있다.
열을 지어 적층되어 있는 컨테이너를 취급하는 방법이 수 십년 동안 잘 알려져 있다. 이러한 몇몇 시스템에서, 예컨대 US 2,701,065 에 기재되어 있는 바와 같이, 필요한 경우 특정 컨테이너에 대한 접근을 여전히 제공하면서 그러한 컨테이너의 보관과 관련된 보관 공간을 줄이기 위해 컨테이너의 자유 직립 적층체가 열을 지어 배치된다. 주어진 컨테이너에 대한 접근은, 비교적 복잡한 인상(hoisting) 기구를 제공하여 가능하게 되며, 그 인상 기구는 컨테이너를 적층하고 주어진 컨테이너를 적층체로부터 제거하기 위해 사용될 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 시슨템의 비용은 많은 상황에서 비실용적이고, 그 시스템은 큰 선적 컨테이너의 보관과 취급을 위해 주로 상용화되어 있다.
컨테이너의 자유 직립 적층체를 사용하고 특정 컨테이너를 회수하고 보관하는 기구를 제공하는 개념은, 예컨대 EP 0 767 113 B(Cimcorp)에 기재되어 있는 바와 같이 더 발전되었다. Cimcorp 는 직사각형 관의 형태로 되어 있는 로봇식 화물 취급기를 사용하여 복수의 적층된 컨테이너를 제거하기 위한 기구를 개시하고 있으며, 상기 로봇식 화물 취급기는 컨테이너의 적층체 주위로 하강되고 적층체에서 임의의 높이에 있는 컨테이너를 잡을 수 있게 되어 있다. 이렇게 해서, 적층체로부터 한번에 여러 개의 컨테이너가 들어올려질 수 있다. 움직일 수 있는 상기 관을 사용하여, 여러 개의 컨테이너를 한 적층체의 정상부로부터 다른 적층체의 정상부로 이동시키거나 또는 적층체로부터 컨테이너를 외부의 위치로 또한 그 반대로 이동시킬 수 있다. 이러한 시스템은, 단일 적층체에 있는 모든 컨테이너가 동일한 제품을 담고 있는 경우에(단일 제품 적층체로 알려져 있음) 특히 유용할 수 있다. 화물 취급기를 사용하여, 단일 제품 적층체 사이에서 컨테이너를 이동시켜 예컨대 단일 종류의 제품을 담고 있는 복수의 컨테이너를 상점에 추가할 수 있고 또한 둘 이상의 단일 제품 적층체로부터 하나 이상의 컨테이너를 픽업하여 다제품 출력 적층체를 만들 수 있다. 이의 일 예는, 소매 상점에 전달하기 위한 다제품 주문을 받아 중앙 창고에서 채소 상자를 픽업하는 것이다.
Cimcorp 에 기재되어 있는 바와 시스템에서, 상기 관의 높이는 적어도 컨테이너의 최대 적층체의 높이 만큼 되어야 하며, 그래서 컨테이너의 최고 적층체는 한번의 작업으로 꺼내질 수 있다. 따라서, 창고와 같은 둘러싸인 공간에서 사용될 때, 적층체의 최대 높이는 화물 취급기의 관을 수용해야 할 필요성에 의해 제한된다. 또한, 상기 시스템은 다제품 적층체로부터 단일의 컨테이너를 선택하는 데에는 잘 적합하게 되어 있지 않다.
온라인 식료품점 또는 수퍼마켓과 같은 온라인 소매업 판매 다제품 라인은 수만 또는 심지어는 수십만 개의 다른 제품 라인을 보관할 수 있는 시스템을 필요로 한다. 이러한 경우에 단일 제품 적층체를 사용하는 것은 비실용적일 수 있는데, 왜냐하면 필요한 모든 적층체를 수용하기 위해 매우 큰 바닥 면적이 필요할 것이기 때문이다. 또한, 잘 상하거나 드물게 주문되는 상품과 같은 소량의 몇 가지 물품만 보관하는 것이 바람직할 수 있어 단일 제품 적층체는 비효율적인 방안이다.
따라서, 몇몇 용례의 경우, 시스템의 보관 밀도를 최대화하기 위해서는, 각 적층체를 구성하는 컨테이너는 다른 제품을 담을 수 있는 다제품 적층체를 사용하는 것이 유리하다. 요구되는 몇몇 물품이 몇개의 다른 컨테이너 아래에서 적층체의 더 낮은 높이에서 보관되더라도, 보관되는 물품은 합당하게 빠르고 쉽게 접근가능해야 하며, 그래서, 고객의 주문을 이행하기 위해 요구되는 복수의 다른 제품을 보관 시스템으로부터 효율적인 방식으로 픽업할 수 있다.
국제 특허 출원 WO 98/049075A(Autostore)(이의 내용은 본원에 참조로 관련되어 있음)에는, 컨테이너의 다제품 적층체가 프렘임 구조물 내에 배치되는 시스템이 기재되어 있다. 이러한 종류의 시스템은 첨부 도면의 도 1 내지 4 에 개략적으로 도시되어 있다.

프레임 구조물(14)은 수평 부재(18, 20)를 지지하는 복수의 직립 부재(16)를 포함한다. 제 1 세트의 평행한 수평 부재(18)는 제 2 세트의 평행한 수평 부재(20)에 수직하게 배치되어, 직립 부재(16)에 의해 지지되는 복수의 수평 격자 구조물을 형성한다. 부재(16, 18, 20)는 일반적으로 금속으로 만들어진다. 상자(10)는 프레임 구조물(14)의 부재(16, 18, 20) 사이에 적층되며, 그래서 프레임 구조물(14)은 상자(10)의 적층체(12)의 수평 방향 운동을 억제하고 그 상자(10)의 수직 방향 운동을 안내하다.

제 1 세트의 휠(34)이 제 1 세트의 레일(22a)과 결합하고 제 2 세트의 휠(36)이 레일(22)로부터 벗어나게 들리면, 휠(34)은 차량(32)에 내장되어 있는 구동 기구(미도시)에 의해 구동되어 화물 취급 장치(30)를 X 방향으로 이동시킬 수 있다. 화물 취급 장치(30)를 Y 방향으로 이동시키기 위해, 제 1 세트의 휠(34)이 레일(22)로부터 벗어나게 들리고 제 2 세트의 휠(36)이 하강되어 제 2 세트의 레일(22b)과 결합하게 된다. 그리고 상기 구동 기구가 사용되어 제 2 세트의 휠(36)을 구동시켜 Y 방향으로 이동시킨다.

도 4 에 나타나 있는 바와 같이, 복수의 동일한 화물 취급 장치(30)가 제공되며, 그래서 각각의 화물 취급 장치(30)는 동시에 작동하여 시스템의 처리량을 증가시킬 수 있다. 도 4 에 도시되어 있는 시스템은 포트(24)라고 하는 2개의 특정한 위치를 포함하는데, 이 위치에서 상자(10)가 상기 시스템 안으로 또는 그 밖으로 전달될 수 있다. 추가적인 컨베이어 시스템(미도시)이 각각의 포트(24)와 관련되어 있고, 그래서 화물 취급 장치(30)에 의해 포트(24)에 운반되는 상자(10)는 상기 컨베이어 시스템에 의해 다른 위치, 예컨대 픽킹부(picking station)에 전달될 수 있다. 유사하게, 상자(10)는 컨베이어 시스템에 의해 외부 위치로부터 포트(24), 예컨대 상자 충전부(미도시)로 이동될 수 있고, 화물 취급 장치(30)에 의해 적층체(12)에 운반되어 시스템에 재고품을 재보급하게 된다.
각각의 화물 취급 장치(30)는 한번에 하나의 상자(10)를 들어올려 이동시킬 수 있다. 적층체(10)의 정상부에 위치하지 않는 상자(10)("목표 상자")를 가져올 필요가 있는 경우, 그 목표 상자(10)에 접근할 수 있도록 위쪽의 상자(10)("비목표 상자")를 먼저 이동시켜야 한다.
각각의 화물 취급 장치(30)는 중앙 컴퓨터의 제어를 받는다. 상기 시스템에 있는 각각의 개별적인 상자(10)가 추적되며, 그래서 필요에 따라 적절한 상자(10)를 가져와 운반하여 교체할 수 있다.
도 1 내지 4 를 참조하여 설명한 상기 시스템은 많은 이점을 가지며 넓은 범위의 보관 및 회수 적업에 적절하다. 특히, 상기 시스템은 제품의 매우 밀집한 보관을 가능하게 해주며, 또한 픽킹이 필요한 경우 모든 상자(10)에 대한 합리적으로 경제적인 접근을 가능하게 하면서, 매우 다양한 물품을 상자(10)에 보관할 수 있는 매우 경제적인 방법을 제공한다.
작업의 속도가 중요한 고 볼륨 시스템에서는, 작업 속도, 배터리 수명, 신뢰성, 들어올림 용량, 안정성 등의 면에서 각 화물 취급 장치의 성능을 최대화하는 것이 중요하다. 그러므로, 이들 면에서의 성능이 개선된 화물 취급 장치를 제공하는 것이 바람직하다.
또한, 보관 시스템으로부터 물품을 가져올 수 있는 속도를 증가시키기 위해서는 한번에 사용 가능한 화물 취급 장치의 수를 증가시키는 것도 중요할 수 있다. 예컨대, 본 출원인의 공동 계류중인 국제 특허 PCT/GB2013/051215(이의 내용은 본원에 참조로 관련되어 있음)에는, 서로 다른 두 종류의 복수의 화물 취급 장치가 제공되어 있는 보관 시스템이 기재되어 있다. 일 종류의 화물 취급 장치는 한번의 작업으로 복수의 상자를 적층체로부터 들어올리도록 되어 있어, 그 적층체에 있는 목표 상자에 제 2 종류의 단일 상자 화물 취급 장치가 접근할 수 있다. 이러한 경우, 한 장치에 대한 최적의 이동 경로가 다른 장치의 존재의 방해를 받는 경우를 최소화하기 위해 화물 취급 장치의 크기를 줄이는 것이 바람직할 수 있다.
본 발명은 이러한 점을 감안하여 창안된 것이다.
일 양태에서, 본 발명은 복수의 컨테이너 적층체를 포함하는 격자 프레임을 포함하는 보관 시스템에 사용되는 화물 취급 장치에 관한 것이다. 이 화물 취급 장치는 컨테이너 적층체의 위쪽에 배치되며 그 적층체로부터 컨테이너를 들어올려 그 컨테이너를 횡방향으로 다른 위치로 이동시킬 수 있다. 유리하게도, 각 화물 취급 장치는 보관 시스템에서 실질적으로 하나의 격자 공간만 차지한다.
따라서, 본 발명은, 컨테이너 적층체 위에 격자(grid) 패턴으로 배치되는 복수의 레일 또는 트랙을 포함하는 보관 시스템에 적층되는 컨테이너를 들어올려 이동시키기 위한 화물 취급 장치를 제공하는 바, 상기 격자 패턴은 복수의 격자 공간을 포함하고, 각 적층체는 단일 격자 공간의 풋프린트(footprint) 내에 위치되며, 상기 화물 취급 장치는 상기 적층체 위에서 상기 레일 또는 트랙 상에서 횡방향으로 움직이도록 되어 있고, 상기 화물 취급 장치는, 사용시 상기 레일 또는 트랙의 위쪽에 위치되는 컨테이너 수용 공간, 및 적층체로부터 컨테이너를 상기 컨테이너 수용 공간 안으로 들어올리도록 배치되어 있는 리프팅 장치를 포함하며, 상기 화물 취급 장치는, 사용시 상기 보관 시스템에서 실질적으로 하나의 격자 공간만 차지하는 풋프린트를 갖는다.
본 발명의 일 실시 형태에 따른 화물 취급 장치는 들어올려진 컨테이너가 수용될 수 있는 컨테이너 수용 공간을 포함한다. 이 컨테이너 수용 공간은 차량 모듈의 아래에 배치되며, 그 차량 모듈 안에는 파워 부품, 제어 부품, 구동 부품 및/또는 리프링 부품과 같은 부품이 내장된다.
본 발명의 바람직한 실시 형태에서, 화물 취급 장치는 상기 컨테이너 수용 공간을 실질적으로 둘러싸는 외부 하우징을 갖는다. 이 외부 하우징은 바람직하게는 입방형의 형상을 갖는다.
화물 취급 장치의 부피 큰 부품들을 컨테이너 수용 공간의 위쪽에 배치함으로써, 화물 취급 장치의 풋프린트가 캔틸레버식 설계(도 3a 내지 3c 에 나타나 있고 NO317366 에 기재되어 있음)과 비교하여 감소되며, 캔틸레버식 설계에서는 부피 큰 부품들은 컨테이너 수용 공간의 일 측면에 배치되는 차량 모듈 안에 내장된다. 유리하게도, 본 발명의 화물 취급 장치는, 도 3a 내지 3c 에 나타나 있는 캔틸레버식 설계(두 개의 적층체 위쪽의 공간을 차지함)와는 달리, 프레임에서 단지 하나의 컨테이너 적층체 위쪽의 공간을 차지하게 된다. 이는, 본 발명에 의해, 풋프린트의 감소로 인해, 더 많은 화물 취급 장치가 수용될 수 있고 또한 한 화물 취급 장치가 다른 화물 취급 장치의 최적의 경로를 방해할 가능성이 줄어들기 때문에, 보관 시스템의 작업 효율이 개선될 수 있음을 의미한다.
상기 화물 취급 장치는 바람직하게는 적층체의 위에서 화물 취급 장치를 지지하기 위한 일 세트의 휠을 포함한다. 예컨대, 화물 취급 장치의 횡방향 이동은 프레임 위에 배치되어 있는 레일에 의해 안내될 수 있다. 레일은 격자 패턴으로 배치될 수 있어, 수평면 내에서 화물 취급 장치의 2차원 운동이 가능하게 된다. 휠은 레일과 결합할 수 있다. 두 세트의 휠이 제공되는데, 한 세트는 제 1 방향으로의 상기 화물 취급 장치의 이동을 안내하기 위해 상기 제 1 세트의 레일과 결합하고, 다른 세트는 제 2 방향으로의 상기 화물 취급 장치의 이동을 안내하기 위해 상기 제 2 세트의 레일과 결합하게 된다.
본 발명의 일 실시 형태에서, 상기 휠은 상기 컨테이너 수용 공간의 둘레에 배치된다. 휠은 차량 모듈 안에 내장되는 하나 이상의 모터에 의해 구동될 수 있다. 컨테이너 수옹 공간 주위에 배치되는 구동 전달 수단에 의해 구동이 차량 모듈 내의 모터로부터 휠에 전달된다. 예컨대, 구동 전달 수단은 풀리와 구동 벨트의 적절한 장치를 포함할 수 있다.
대안적으로, 상기 휠은 일체화된 모터, 예컨대 휠 허브 내부에 일체화되어 있는 모터를 포함할 수 있다. 이렇게 해서, 각 휠은 셀프-컨테이너 구동 유닛이고, 구동 벨트는 필요 없다. 이러한 구성은, 화물 취급 장치의 크기를 줄이고 수리를 용이하게 해주므로 유리하다.
한 세트 또는 양 세트의 휠은 다른 세트의 휠에 대해 상승 및 하강될 수 있다. 이러한 목적으로, 하나 이상의 휠 리프트 모터 또는 다른 휠 리프트 장치가 차량 모듈 안에 내장될 수 있다.
차량 모듈은 컨테이너를 컨테이너 수용 공간 안으로 들어올리기 위한 윈치 또는 크레인 장치를 내장할 수 있다. 크레인 장치는 컨테이너를 들어올리기 위한 하나 이상의 모터를 포함할 수 있고, 크레인 장치의 각 모터는 차량 모듈 안에 내장될 수 있다.
크레인 장치는 위쪽에서 컨테이너를 잡도록 되어 있는 그립퍼 장치를 포함할 수 있다. 그립퍼 장치는 이 그립퍼 장치를 수직 방향으로 이동시키기 위해 상기 차량으로부터 연장 및 후퇴될 수 있는 케이블에 매달려 있을 수 있다.
다른 실시 형태에서, 화물 취급 장치는, 적층체로부터 단일의 컨테이너를 컨테이너 수용 공간 안으로 들어올리기 위한 리프팅 장치를 구비한다. 이 리프팅 장치는 컨테이너 수용 공간의 양 측에 배치되는 한쌍의 리프팅 아암을 포함하고, 이 경우, 리프팅 장치는, 상기 아암의 단부 사이에 장착되어 위쪽에서 컨테이너를 잡도록 되어 있는 그립퍼 장치를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 화물 취급 장치는 바람직하게는, 상기 그립퍼 장치가 상기 컨테이너 수용 공간 아래로 하강되면 그립퍼 장치의 실질적으로 바로 위쪽에 위치되는 질량 중심을 갖는다.
다른 실시 형태에서, 상기 리프팅 장치는 컨테이너의 측벽에 형성되어 있는 수직 채널과 결합하는 로드 또는 케이블을 포함한다. 각 컨테이너의 상면에 있는 구멍을 통해 상기 채널에 접근할 수 있다. 이러한 구성에서, 보관 시스템에서 수직 방향으로 연장되어 있는 공간이 필요 없다.
상기 로드 또는 케이블은 컨테이너와 해제 가능하게 결합하는 앵커 기구를 보유할 수 있다. 예컨대, 앵커 기구는 컨테이너의 표면과 결합기 위해 횡방향으로 연장될 수 있는 하나 이상의 아암을 포함할 수 있다. 앵커 기구는 예컨대 로드 또는 케이블의 관형 보어를 통해 연장되어 있는 와이어에 의해 원격으로 작동될 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 화물 취급 장치는 상부, 컨테이너 수용 공간을 포함하는 하부, 및 컨테이너를 컨테이너 수용 공간 안으로 들어올리기 위한 윈치 수단을 포함한다. 윈치 수단은 바람직하게는 컨테이너 수용 공간의 위쪽에서 상기 상부에 수용되는 윈치 모터를 포함한다. 상기 하부는 바람직하게는 프레임에 대한 화물 취급 장치의 횡방향 이동을 용이하게 해주는 휠 어셈블리를 포함하고, 상부는 휠 어셈블리의 하나 이상의 휠을 구동시키기 위한 적어도 하나의 모터를 또한 포함한다.
상기 하부는 휠 어셈블리의 휠을 지지하기 위한 프레임 구조물을 포함할 수 있다. 이 프레임 구조물은 컨테이너 수용 공간 주위에 배치될 수 있다. 예컨대, 상기 컨테이너 수용 공간은 4개의 측면에서 상기 프레임 구조물에 의해 경계져 있을 수 있다. 프레임 구조물의 하나 이상의 요소가 움직여, 제 2 세트의 휠에 대해 제1 세트의 휠을 상승 및 하강시킬 수 있고, 그래서 제 1 세트의 휠 또는 제 2 세트의 휠과 제 1 또는 제 2 세트의 레일 또는 트랙의 결합이 용이하게 된다. 프레임 구조물의 가동 요소는 화물 취급 장치의 상부에 내장되어 있는 모터에 의해 구동될 수 있다.

다른 양태에서, 본 발명은, 복수의 컨테이너 적층체를 포함하는 프레임, 및 전술한 바와 같은 하나 이상의 화물 취급 장치를 포함하는 보관 시스템에 관한 것이다. 화물 취급 장치 각각은, 단지 하나의 컨테이너 적층체가 차지하는 영역에 대응하여 실질적으로 하나의 격자 공간을 차지한다.
따라서, 본 발명은, 제 1 세트의 평행한 레일 또는 트랙, 및 격자 공간을 포함하는 격자 패턴을 형성하도록 실질적인 수평면 내에서 상기 제 1 세트에 대해 횡으로 연장되어 있는 제 2 세트의 평행한 레일 또는 트랙; 상기 레일의 아래에 위치되며, 각기 단일의 격자 공간의 풋프린트를 차지하도록 배치되는 복수의 컨테이터 적층체; 및 전술한 바와 같은 화물 취급 장치를 포함하는 보관 시스템을 제공하는 바, 상기 화물 취급 장치는 상기 적층체 위에서 상기 레일 상에서 횡방향으로 움직이도록 되어 있고, 상기 화물 취급 장치는, 상기 레일의 위쪽에 위치되는 컨테이너 수용 공간, 및 적층체로부터 하나의 컨테이너를 상기 컨테이너 수용 공간 안으로 들어올리도록 배치되어 있는 리프팅 장치를 포함하며, 상기 화물 취급 장치는, 상기 보관 시스템에서 실질적으로 하나의 격자 공간만 차지하는 풋프린트를 갖는다.
다른 양태에서, 본 발명은, 복수의 컨테이너 적층체를 포함하는 프레임, 한번의 작업으로 적층체로부터 복수의 컨테이너를 들어올릴 수 있는 제 1 취급 장치, 및 하나의 컨테이너를 들어올려 그 컨테이너를 횡방향으로 이동시킬 수 있는 제 2 취급 장치를 포함하는 보관 시스템을 포함한다. 제 1 및 2 취급 장치는 프레임 위쪽에 배치되고 독립적으로 이동하여 서로 다른 적층체에 접근할 수 있다. 제 2 취급 장치는 전술한 종류이고, 실질적으로 단지 하나의 컨테이너 적층체에 대응하는 공간을 차지한다.
이 양태에서, 한번의 작업으로 적층체로부터 복수의 컨테이너를 들어올릴 수 있는 제 1 취급 장치와 하나의 컨테이너를 들어올려 그 컨테이너를 횡방향으로 이동시킬 수 있는 제 2 취급 장치가 제공됨으로써, 적층체의 중간 또는 바닥에 있는 컨테이너를 가져오고자 할 때 최적의 방안이 제공된다. 이러한 경우, 목표 컨테이너를 가져오기 위해서는 단지 두 번의 리프팅 작업만 수행하면 되고, 그리하여, 한번에 단지 하나의 컨테이너를 들어올릴 수 있는 종래 기술의 구성과 비교하여 회수 과정의 속도와 효율이 크게 높아진다.
상기 보관 시스템은, 컨테이너가 상기 보관 시스템으로부터 제거될 수 있고/있거나 보관 시스템에 추가될 수 있는 하나 이상의 포트 위치를 더 포함할 수 있다. 본 발명의 화물 취급 장치는 목표 컨테이너를 적층체로부터 포트 위치로 운반할 수 있다. 컨테이너는 상부가 개방된 상자를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 컨테이너는 적층체로 형성되면 수직 방향으로 서로 맞물리거나 결합할 수 있다.
전형적인 용례에서, 복수의 컨테이너를 동시에 들어올려 이동시킬 수 있도록 복수의 취급 장치가 사용될 수 있다. 취급 장치들은 서로 다른 종류일 수 있고, 시스템의 비용 및 에너지 소비와 작업의 속도 및 유연성이 서로 균형을 이루도록 취급 장치들이 선택될 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 이점으로서, 화물 취급 장치는 단지 하나의 적층체 위의 공간을 차지하므로, 둘 이상의 적층체 공간을 차지하는 종래 기술의 화물 취급 장치와 비교하여 다중 장치 시스템의 효율이 개선될 수 있다. 효율의 이득은, 주어진 시스템에서 더 많은 화물 취급 장치를 수용할 수 있다는 사실, 감소된 장치 풋프린트로 얻어지는 공간을 사용하여 장치의 안내를 최적화할 수 있다는 사실, 또는 이들 사실의 조합으로 얻어진다.
본 발명의 각 양태의 바람직한 그리고/또는 선택적인 특징은 단독으로 사용되거나 본 발명의 다른 양태에서는 적절한 조합으로 사용될 수 있다.

차량(102)의 상부(112)는 도 6c 에 나타나 있는 바와 같이 화물 취급 장치의 상당히 부피가 큰 모든 부품을 내장한다. 상부(112)는 배터리 및 관련 전자 장치, 제어기 및 통신 장치, 휠(116, 118)을 구동시키기 위한 모터, 크레인 기구(104)를 구동시키기 위한 모터 및 기타 센서와 시스템을 내장한다.
이렇게 해서, 차량(102)의 풋프린트는 오목부(120)의 양측에 있는 휠(116, 118)을 수용하기에만 충분한 상자(106)의 크기 보다 크다. 다시 말해, 차량(102)은 보관 시스템에서 단일의 격자(grid) 공간을 차지한다. 그러므로 이렇게 해서, 차량(102)은 X-Y 면에서 가능한 최소량의 공간을 차지하며, 도 3 에 나타나 있는 종래 기술의 캔틸레버형 설계의 풋프린트의 대략 절반인 풋프린트를 갖게 된다. 비교를 위해, 도 7 에는, 도 3 에 나타나 있는 종류의 종래 기술의 캔틸레버형 화물 취급 장치(30)와 함께, 도 1 및 2 에 나타나 있는 종류의 보관 시스템에 사용되는 본 발명에 따른 화물 취급 장치(100)가 나타나 있다. 알 수 있는 바와 같이, 종래 기술의 장치(30)는 높이는 더 낮지만, 본 발명의 더 높지만 더 작은 풋프린트를 갖는 장치(100)와 비교하여 2개의 적층체 공간을 차지한다.
본 발명의 화물 취급 장치(100)는 종래 기술의 캔틸레버형 화물 취급 장치(30)와 비교하여 개선된 안정성, 증가된 화물 취급 용량 및 감소된 중량을 제공할 수 있는데, 이는 본 발명에서는 컨테이너의 하중이 차량의 각 측면에 있는 한쌍의 휠 사이에서 지탱되기 때문이다. 이와는 달리, 종래 기술의 장치(30)는 캔틸레버형 구성에서 하중과 균형을 이루기 위해서는 비교적 무거운 차량 모듈을 가져야 하기 때문이다.
도 8 내지 12 는 본 발명의 일 실시 형태를 나타낸다. 차량(102)의 상부(112)는 3개의 주요 모터, 즉 차량(102)의 양측에 위치되어 있는 구동축에 장착되어 있는 스풀(109)에 감겨 있는 윈치 케이블(108)을 올리고 내리는 데에 사용되는 Z-구동 모터(150), 제 1 세트의 휠(116)을 구동시키는 X-구동 모터(152), 및 제 2 세트의 휠(118)을 구동시키는 Y-구동 모터(154)를 내장한다. 차량의 상부(112)는 도 6c 를 참조하여 전술한 바와 같이 모터에 동력을 공급하는 배터리(156), 제어기, 센서 및 다른 부품도 내장한다.
구동은 벨트 구동 기구에 의해 X-구동 모터(152)와 Y-구동 모터(154)로부터 각 세트의 휠(116, 118)에 전달된다. X-구동 모터(152)는 차량 몸체를 가로질러 연장되어 있는 짧은 구동 축(162)에 연결되어 있는 풀리(160)를 구동시킨다. 구동은 X 구동 벨트(164)에 의해 짧은 구동 축(162)으로부터 제 1 세트의 휠(116)의 각 휠에 전달된다. 벨트 구동식 휠(116, 118)은 차량(102)의 하부(114)의 바닥에 장착된다. 모터로부터 구동을 전달하기 위해 구동 벨트(164, 174)를 사용함으로써, 모터(152, 154)를 차량의 상부(112)에 장착할 수 있다.
이 실시 형태에서, 도 9, 11 및 12 에 가장 뚜렷히 나타나 있는 바와 같이, 휠 위치지정 기구에 의해 제 1 세트의 휠(116)은 레일에서 벗어나게 상승되거나 또는 레일 상으로 하강될 수 있다. 각 휠(116)은 외측 단부에서 피봇식으로 장착되는 아암(180)에 장착된다. 각 아암(180)의 내측 단부는 각 링크(182)의 하단부에 연결된다. 양 링크(182)의 상단부는 공통 링크(184)의 하단부에 연결된다. 그리고, 공통 링크(184)의 상단부는 모터(188)에 의해 움직이는 레버 아암(186)에 연결된다. 모터(188)를 작동시켜 공통 링크(184)를 위쪽으로 끌어당기면, 제 1 세트의 휠(116)이 상승되어 제 2 세트의 휠(118)만 레일과 결합하게 되어 차량(102)이 Y-방향으로 이동할 수 있다. 도 9, 11 및 12 에 나타나 있는 바와 같이, 모터(188)를 작동시켜 공통 링크(184)를 아래쪽으로 밀면, 제 1 세트의 휠(116)이 아래쪽으로 이동하여 레일과 결합하고 차량을 들어올리고, 그래서 제 2 세트의 휠(118)이 레일에서 벗어나게 위로 들리게 된다. 그래서 차량(102)은 X-방향으로 이동할 수 있다.
제 2 세트의 휠(118)은 차량(102)의 하부(114)의 양 단부에 배치되는 고정된 T-피스(190)에 장착된다.
도 8, 9 및 12 는 상자(106)가 오목부(120) 안으로 들어올려져 있는 화물 취급 장치(100)를 나타낸다. 도 11 은 상자(106)가 장치(100)의 아래에 있고 그래버 플레이트(110)가 그 상자(106)와 막 결합하려고 하는 상태에 있는 화물 취급 장치(100)를 나타낸다. 휠(116, 118) 및 관련 지지 요소, 링크 및 구동 벨트(164, 174)는 오목부(120)의 가장자리 주위에 배치되어 있고, 그래서 차량(102)의 상부(112)는 견고하게 지지된다.

도 14 는 본 발명의 다른 실시 형태에 따른 화물 취급 장치의 프레임 구조물(210)에 장착되어 있는 2개의 휠(200)을 나타낸다. 앞 실시 형태에서처럼, 이 실시 형태에서 화물 취급 장치는 이 장치의 주요 부품을 내장하는 상부(112) 및 상자를 수용하기 위한 오목부(120)를 갖는 하부를 포함하며, 휠(200)은 오목부의 네 측에 배치된다(도 14 에는 단지 하나의 측에만 있는 휠이 나타나 있다).
이 경우, 프레임 구조물(210)은 휠(200)을 사이에 수용하는 2개의 평행한 패널을 포함한다. 구동 벨트(212)가 제공되어 있어, 차량의 상부(112)에 내장되어 있는 모터로부터 구동을 휠(200)에 전달하게 된다.
추가로 도 15 및 16 을 참조하면, 이 실시 형태에서는, 프레임 구조물(210)을 차량의 상부(112)에 대해 움직여서 휠(200)을 상승 및 하강시킬 수 있다. 프레임 구조물(210)은 레일(232)에 의해 차량의 상부(112)의 몸체(230)에 장착된다. 레일(232)은 수직 배향으로 몸체(230)에 고정되고, 프레임 구조물(210)은 레일(232)에 슬라이딩 가능하게 장착된다.
프레임 구조물(210)은 패널 사이에서 연장되어 있는 한쌍의 링크(240)에 의해 유지된다. 링크(240)의 바닥 단부는 패널 사이의 틈을 연결하는 각 축(242)에 부착된다. 링크(240)의 상단부는 나사산이 형성되어 있는 수평 구동축(244)에 장착되는 나사산이 형성되어 보스(246)에 회전 가능하게 부착된다. 이 보스(246)는 수평 레일(248)에 슬라이딩 가능하게 부착된다.
구동축(244)은 모터(250)에 의해 구동 벨트(미도시)를 통해 구동된다. 구동축(244)이 제 1 방향으로 회전될 때, 링크(240)의 상단부가 서로 떨어지게 움직여 프레임 구조물(210)을 아래쪽으로 밀게 되며, 그리하여 휠(200)이 레일 상으로 내려가게 된다. 구동축(244)이 제 2 반대 방향으로 회전되면, 링크(240)의 상단부가 함께 움직여 프레임 구조물(210)을 위쪽으로 끌어당겨 휠(200)을 들어올리게 된다.
2개의 휠(200)을 갖는 단지 하나의 프레임 구조물(210)이 도 14 내지 16 에 나타나 있지만, 동일한 프레임 구조물(210)이 차량의 양측에 제공될 것임을 이해할 것이다. 양 프레임 구조물(210)은 공통의 모터에 의해 상승 및 하강되며, 그래서 4개의 휠(200)이 일제히 상승 및 하강되어, 이 제 1 세트의 휠(200)과, 프레임을 가로지르는 제 1 방향으로 연장되어 있는 레일의 결합을 제어할 수 있다. 도 14 내지 16 에는 나타나 있지 않지만, 차량은 제 1 세트의 휠이 들어올려질 때 프레임을 가로지르는 제 2 수직 방향으로 연장되어 있는 레일과 결합하게 되는 다른 세트의 휠을 포함한다.
많은 다른 변형예와 수정예가 가능하다. 예컨대, 양 세트의 휠은 적절한 세트의 휠에 동력을 전달하는 적절한 동력 전달 장치를 통해 단일의 모터로 동력 공급을 받을 수 있다. 다른 실시예에서, 휠 중의 하나 이상은 일체화된 모터 또는 휠에 인접하여 위치되는 모터를 포함할 수 있다. 이의 일 예가 도 17 에 나타나 있다.
도 17 을 참조하면, 이 도는 본 발명의 다른 실시 형태에 따른 화물 취급 장치(252)를 나타낸다. 이 장치(252)는 입방형 외부 하우징(254)을 가지며, 이 하우징에는 복수의 휠(256)이 하우징(254)의 하측 가장자리(258) 근처에 장착되어 있다. 휠(256)은 동력화된 허브 휠이고, 각 휠(256)은 휠(256)의 허브(260)와 일체화된 모터를 갖는다. 모터를 사용하여 각각의 휠(256)을 직접 구동시키고 그래서 이 실시 형태는 휠과 구동 모터 사이에 연결되는 구동 벨트를 필요로 하지 않는다.
이 실시예에서, 모터는 장치(252)의 컨테이너 수용 공간(266)에 인접하여 하우징(254)의 하부(264)의 측벽(262) 내부에 위치되어 있는 배터리에 의해 동력을 공급받는다. 이렇게 배터리를 밑에 낮은 곳에 위치시킴으로써, 장치(252)의 무게 중심이 낮아져 그 장치의 안정성이 커지고 또한 더 높은 가속과 감속이 가능하게 되는 유리한 이점이 얻어진다. 그 외에 장치(252)는 앞 실시 형태와 유사하고, 휠(256)을 상승 및 하강시키기 위한 유사한 기구 및 컨테이너를 컨테이너 수용 공간(266) 안으로 들어올리기 위한 유사한 리프팅 장치를 포함한다. 측벽(262)에 위치되는 배터리는 이들 부품에 동력을 공급하는 데에도 사용된다.
전술한 실시 형태들 중의 어떤 실시 형태에서도, 컨테이너를 컨테이너 수용 공간 안으로 들어올리기 위해 사용되는 상기 기구는 어떤 적절한 형태라도 취할 수 있다. 최대의 안정성과 화물 용량을 위해서는, 4개의 리프팅 케이블을 제공하는 것이 바람직한데(한 케이블은 장치의 각 코너의 근처에 배치됨), 하지만 예컨대 더 적은 케이블을 갖는 다른 구성도 원하는 경우에 사용될 수 있다. 편리하게는, 모든 케이블이 단일의 모터를 사용하여 스풀에 감기거나 풀리게 되지만, 원하는 경우에 하나 보다 많은 모터를 사용할 수도 있다.
모터 대신에, 휠을 들어올리는 데에 사용되는 기구는 선형 모터 또는 유압 램과 같은 선형 액츄에이터를 사용할 수 있다. 배터리 파워를 사용하는 대신에, 화물 취급 장치에 동력을 공급하기 위한 다른 수단도 당업자에게 명백할 것인데, 예컨대 오버헤드 파워를 사용하거나 장치가 주행하는 레일을 통해 파워를 공급하는 것이다.
일 특정 실시 형태와 관련하여 설명한 특징은 다른 실시 형태와 관련하여 설명한 특징과 상호 교환됨을 이해할 것이다. 예컨대, 도 17 과 관련하여 설명한 동력화된 허브 휠은 다른 실시 형태 중 어떤 것에도 사용될 수 있고 그리고/또는 안정성을 증가시키고 가속/감속을 증가시키기 위해 상기 배터리는 어떤 실시 형태에서도 컨테이너 수용 공간에 인접하여 밑에서 낮게 위치될 수 있다. 명시적으로 설명하지 않은 다른 변형예와 수정예도 당 기술에 익숙한 독자에게 명백할 것이다.

Claims (7)

  1. 컨테이너의 복수의 적층체(12)를 포함하는 격자(grid) 프레임을 갖는 보관 시스템 내에서 사용하기 위한 화물 취급 장치(100)로서,
    상기 화물 취급 장치(100)는 컨테이너의 적층체(12) 위에 배치되도록 구성되고, 상기 화물 취급 장치(100)는 적층체로부터 컨테이너(106)를 들어올리고 상기 컨테이너(106)를 다른 위치에 횡방향으로 이동하게 할 수 있으며,
    상기 화물 취급 장치(100)는 상기 적층체 위에서, 상기 격자 프레임 위에 배치되어 있는 레일 상에 화물 취급 장치(100)를 지지하기 위해 두 세트의 휠(116, 118)을 포함하고, 상기 두 세트의 휠은 제 1 방향으로의 상기 화물 취급 장치의 이동을 안내하기 위해 제 1 세트의 레일(22a)과 결합하는 제 1 세트의 휠(116), 및 제 2 방향으로의 상기 화물 취급 장치의 이동을 안내하기 위해 제 2 세트의 레일(22b)과 결합하는 제 2 세트의 휠(118)을 포함하고,
    한 세트 또는 양 세트의 휠(116, 118)은 다른 세트의 휠(116, 118)에 대해 상승 및 하강되도록 되어 있고,
    상기 화물 취급 장치(100)는 컨테이너 수용 공간(120)을 포함하고, 컨테이너 수용 공간(120) 안으로 컨테이너가 들어올려질 수 있고,
    상기 컨테이너 수용 공간(120)은 차량 모듈(112) 아래에 배치되고, 차량 모듈에 파워 부품, 제어 부품, 구동 부품 및 리프팅 부품이 내장되고,
    한 세트의 휠(116, 118)이 다른 세트의 휠(116, 118)에 대해 상승 및 하강되기 위해 하나 이상의 휠 리프트 모터(188) 또는 다른 휠 리프트 장치가 차량 모듈(122) 안에 내장되는, 화물 취급 장치(100).
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 휠(116, 118)은 상기 컨테이너 수용 공간의 둘레 주위에 배치되는, 화물 취급 장치(100).
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 차량 모듈(112)는 상기 컨테이너(106)를 컨테이너 수용 공간으로 들어올리기 위한 크레인 장치(104)를 내장하고, 상기 크레인 장치(104)는 상기 컨테이너를 들어올리기 위한 하나 이상의 모터를 포함하고, 상기 모터는 상기 차량 모듈(112)에 내장되는, 화물 취급 장치(100).
  4. 제3항에 있어서,
    상기 크레인 장치(104)는 위쪽에서 컨테이너를 잡도록 되어 있는 그립퍼 장치(110)를 포함하는, 화물 취급 장치(100).
  5. 제4항에 있어서,
    상기 그립퍼 장치(110)는 이 그립퍼 장치(110)를 수직 방향으로 이동시키기 위해 차량으로부터 연장 및 후퇴될 수 있는 케이블에 매달려 있는, 화물 취급 장치(100).
  6. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 화물 취급 장치는 자주식(self-propelled) 로봇 차량인, 화물 취급 장치(100).
  7. 보관 시스템으로서,
    컨테이너(106)의 복수의 적층체(12)를 포함하는 프레임, 및
    하나 이상의 화물 취급 장치(100)를 포함하고, 상기 화물 취급 장치(100)는 상기 컨테이너의 적층체 위에 배치되고 제1항 또는 제2항에 따른 것인, 보관 시스템.
