Description
特許文献1のバッテリシステムは、図1に示すように、電池91を2組の電池ブロック95に分割して、電池ブロック95をヒューズ98を介して直列に接続している。さらに、電池91の出力側にはリレー92を接続している。このバッテリシステムは、走行用バッテリに過電流が流れるとヒューズ98を溶断して電池91の電流を遮断する。さらに、このバッテリシステムは、リレー92のオンオフを制御する制御回路94でリレー92をオフに切り換えて、電池91の電流を遮断する。バッテリシステムの制御回路94は、電池91の電流を検出する電流検出回路99を備えており、検出電流で電池91の充放電を管理している。電流検出回路99は、電池91を正常に充放電する電流範囲、たとえば車両用のバッテリシステムにあっては、200A以下の電流を検出している。電池にこの電流よりも大きな電流が流れると、すなわち電池に異常な過電流が流れると、リレーをオフに切り換えて電池の電流を遮断している。図1のバッテリシステムは、過電流でヒューズ98を溶断し、もしくは、過電流でリレー92をオフに切り換えることで高い安全性を実現する。

Claims (5)
- 充電できる電池(1)と、
前記電池(1)と直列に接続され、それ自体に流れる過電流で溶断されるヒューズ(8)と、
前記電池(1)の出力側に直列に接続されるリレー(2)と、
前記リレー(2)をオンからオフに制御する電流遮断回路(4)とを備え、
前記電流遮断回路(4)は、
前記電池(1)の許容充放電電流の最大値を越えた電流が流れる過電流を検出する検出部と、
該検出部が過電流を検出してから前記リレー(2)がオフ状態になるまでの遅延時間を特定するタイマ部(24)とを含み、
前記遅延時間経過後に前記リレー(2)をオンからオフに切り替えた際に、前記リレー(2)が溶着せずに電流を遮断できる最大電流を最大遮断電流とし、
前記ヒューズ(8)は、前記遅延時間における溶断電流が、前記リレー(2)の最大遮断電流以下であって、前記電池(1)の許容充放電電流の最大値以上の値に設定されることを特徴とするバッテリシステム。 - 請求項1に記載のバッテリシステムにおいて、
前記電池(1)は、充電できる複数の電池セル(5)を含み、
さらに、前記電池セル(5)に内蔵され、過電流または過充電で電池セル(5)の内部接続回路を遮断する内部電流遮断部を備え、
前記ヒューズの溶断特性が、前記内部電流遮断部の遮断特性よりも小さい電流で溶断される特性であることを特徴とするバッテリシステム。 - 請求項2に記載のバッテリシステムにおいて、
前記内部電流遮断部は、前記タイマ部(24)の遅延時間における遮断電流をリレー(2)の最大遮断電流よりも大きく設定されることを特徴とするバッテリシステム。 - 前記電池セル(5)の内部電流遮断部がCID(Current Interrupt Device カレントインタラプトデバイス)である請求項2または3に記載されるバッテリシステム。
- 前記電池(1)の出力電圧が10V以上で500V以下である請求項1
ないし4のいずれかに記載されるバッテリシステム。
