Description
分子内にリチウムイオン配位性基と架橋性基と疎水性基とを併せ持つ下記一般式(1)または一般式(2)で表される化合物を含有することを特徴とするリチウムイオン二次電池用負極材。
2.前記架橋性基がケイ素を含んでいることを特徴とする前記1に記載のリチウムイオン二次電池用負極材。
前記一般式(1)において、Rで表される一価の有機基とは炭素鎖あるいは炭素環を基本骨格とする1価の基の総称である。
負極については、特に制限は無く、集電体に負極活物質を密着させたものが利用できる。黒鉛系やスズ合金系などの粉末を、スチレンブタジエンゴムやポリフッ化ビニリデンなどの結着材とともにペースト状として、集電体上に塗布して、乾燥後、プレス成形して作製したものが利用できる。物理蒸着(スパッタリング法や真空蒸着法など)によって3〜5ミクロンのシリコン系薄膜を、集電体上に直接形成したシリコン系薄膜負極なども利用できる。リチウム金属負極の場合は、銅箔上に10〜30ミクロンのリチウム箔を付着させたものが好適である。本発明においては炭素を主成分とする負極材が好ましく用いられる。
正極活物質としては、無機系活物質、有機系活物質、これらの複合体が例示できるが、無機系活物質あるいは無機系活物質と有機系活物質の複合体が、特にエネルギー密度が大きくなる点から好ましい。
本発明に用いる電極合剤としては、導電剤、結着剤やフィラーなどの他に、リチウム塩、非プロトン性有機溶媒等が添加されたものが挙げられる。
正・負極の集電体としては、本発明の非水二次電池において化学変化を起こさない電子伝導体が用いられる。正極の集電体としては、アルミニウム、ステンレス鋼、ニッケル、チタンなどの他にアルミニウムやステンレス鋼の表面にカーボン、ニッケル、チタンあるいは銀を処理させたものが好ましく、その中でも、アルミニウム、アルミニウム合金がより好ましい。
本発明のリチウムイオン二次電池は電解質組成物(電解液ともいう)を含んでいる。
本発明の電解質組成物には支持電解質塩としてリチウムイオンの塩が用いられる。
本発明の電解質組成物には有機溶剤を用いることが可能である。本発明に用いることのできる有機溶媒としては非プロトン性溶媒が挙げられ、例えば、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)、エチレンカーボネート(EC)、ブチレンカーボネート(BC)、ビニレンカーボネート(VC)等の環状カーボネート類、ジメチルカーボネート(DMC)、ジエチルカーボネート(DEC)、エチルメチルカーボネート(EMC)、ジプロピルカーボネート(DPC)等の鎖状カーボネート類、ギ酸メチル、酢酸メチル、プロピオン酸エチル等の脂肪族カルボン酸エステル類、γ−ブチロラクトン等のγ−ラクトン類、1,2−エトキシエタン(DEE)、エトキシメトキシエタン(EME)等の鎖状エーテル類、テトラヒドロフラン、2−メチルテトラヒドロフラン等の環状エーテル類、ジメチルスルホキシド、1,3−ジオキソラン、ホルムアミド、アセトアミド、ジメチルホルムアミド、ジオキソラン、アセトニトリル、プロピルニトリル、ニトロメタン、エチルモノグライム、トリメトキシメタン、ジオキソラン誘導体、スルホラン、メチルスルホラン、1,3−ジメチル−2−イミダゾリジノン、3−メチル−2−オキサゾリジノン、プロピレンカーボネート誘導体、テトラヒドロフラン誘導体、エチルエーテル、アニソール、N−メチルピロリドンなどが挙げられる。
本発明においては、電解質組成物はイオン液体を含有することが、燃焼防止性の効果が大きく好ましい。
本発明の電解質組成物は、無機微粒子、重合性化合物及び高分子を含有することが出来る。有機溶媒の含有量を少量又は不使用とし、無機微粒子と重合性化合物、又は無機微粒子と高分子を電解質に含有することで固体電解質とすることも可能である。
無機微粒子としては、酸化鉄、酸化ジルコニウム、酸化ニオブ、酸化タンタル、酸化アンチモン、クレー、酸化スズ、酸化タングステン、酸化チタン、リン酸アルミニウム、酸化ケイ素、酸化亜鉛、酸化アルミニウムや、これらの複合酸化物が好ましく使用できる。
重合性化合物を用いる場合、重合により高分子化する重合性モノマー、または、重合性オリゴマーが用いられる。
高分子化合物を用いる場合、重合単位(モノマー)の数平均重合度が1000個以上のものであることが好ましく、例えば、ポリエチレンオキシド、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリビニリデンフロライド、ポリ(メタ)アクリル酸アルキル、ポリ(メタ)アクリル酸アリール、ポリフルオレン、ポリアミド、ポリイミド、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート、ポリウレタンなどが好適に用いられる。中でもポリ(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルが好ましく用いられる。
本発明のリチウムイオン二次電池は、セパレーターを併用して使用することも可能である。セパレーターは正電極と負電極とを電子的に絶縁してショートを防止し、イオンの移動のみを可能とする機能を有する。特に、電解液が分解して電池内部が発熱した場合、80℃以上で隙間を閉塞して抵抗を上げ、電流を遮断する機能を持つことが必要であり、閉塞温度が90℃以上、180℃以下であることが好ましい。
ここでは、本発明の二次電池の作製について説明する。本発明の二次電池の形状としては、シート、角、シリンダーなどいずれの形にも適用できる。正極活物質や負極活物質の合剤は、集電体の上に、塗布(コート)、乾燥、圧縮されて、主に用いられる。
表1〜表3に示す通り電解質組成物成分を混合して、電解質組成物を調製した。
正極活物質として、LiCoO2を43質量部、鱗片状黒鉛2質量部、アセチレンブラック2質量部、さらに結着剤としてポリアクリロニトリル3質量部を加え、アクリロニトリル100質量部を媒体として混練して得られたスラリーを厚さ20μmのアルミニウム箔にエクストルージョン式塗布機を使って塗設し、乾燥後カレンダープレス機により圧縮成形し、露点−40℃以下の乾燥空気中、230℃で30分脱水乾燥した。
グラファイト96質量%とポリフッ化ビニリデン共重合体4質量%とN−メチルピロリドンと表1〜表3に示す通り本発明の化合物を加えて、混合してスラリーを調製した。このスラリーを厚さ20μmのアルミニウム箔上に200μmの厚さで塗布し、130℃で5分間遠赤外線乾燥後、ロールプレスして負極を作製した。
上記で得られた正極と負極それぞれを3cm×3cmの大きさに断裁し、電流端子(タブ)を超音波溶接後、酸素濃度10ppm以下、露点−60℃以下の乾燥空気で満たされたドライブース内にて、正極と、4cm×4cmに裁断した厚さ30μmの東燃タピルス(株)製0不織布TAPYRUS P22FW−OCS、負極をこの順に重ね合わせた後、ラミネートフィルム製の外装体に入れ、前記調製した電解質を注液し、ヒートシールして表1〜表3に示す、電解質構成物を含有する二次電池1〜76を作製した。

(5)二次電池の評価
(放電容量・サイクル性の評価)
上記作製したリチウム二次電池について、計測器センター社製の充放電測定装置を用いて、6mAの電流で、電圧を2Vから4.2Vまで充電し、10分間の休止後、6mAの電流で電池電圧3Vまで放電した。この充放電を50回繰り返し、初期の放電容量を基準(100%)としたときの50サイクル目の放電容量維持率(%)を計算した。
充電、放電電流を、それぞれ30mA、90mAに変更し、初期の放電容量を基準(100%)としたときのそれぞれの放電容量の割合を計算し、高速充放電における放電容量の低下度合いすなわちレート特性の指標とした。得られた結果を表1〜表3に示す。

- 少なくとも電極スラリーに混合して用いられるリチウムイオン二次電池用負極材であって、
分子内にリチウムイオン配位性基と架橋性基と疎水性基とを併せ持つ下記一般式(1)または一般式(2)で表される化合物を含有することを特徴とするリチウムイオン二次電池用負極材。
(式中、Aは、炭素原子、ケイ素原子、又は窒素原子を表す。L 1 、L 2 及びL 3 は、それぞれ独立に二価の連結基を表す。Rは、一価の有機基を表す。nは、0または1の整数を表す。Xは、カーボネート基、スルホニル基、ポリアルキレンオキシ基、ポリアルキレンアミノ基、ウレイド基、またはこれらがフッ素化された基を表す。Yは、架橋性基を表す。Zは、疎水性基を表す。)
