Claims (16)
- 重金属排出を低減させる方法であって、
重金属含有燃料を燃焼室中で燃焼させる工程と、
分子ハロゲンまたは1若しくはそれ以上のハロゲン前駆体を、前記重金属含有燃料の燃焼の結果として生成された約1000°F(537.8℃)を超える温度を有する排気流中に導入する工程と、
空気予熱器(APH)の上流で収着剤を前記排気流中に導入する工程と
を有し、
前記ハロゲンおよび収着剤は1ポンド(lb)の収着剤当たり約0.7モル(1.54mol/kg)〜約5.7モル(12.57mol/kg)のハロゲンの比で導入されるものである、方法。 - 請求項1記載の方法において、前記収着剤は活性炭である方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法において、前記収着剤は約15μm未満の平均粒径(MPD)を有するものである方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法において、前記1若しくはそれ以上のハロゲン前駆体は次亜塩素酸カルシウム、次亜臭素酸カルシウム、次亜ヨウ素酸カルシウム、塩化カルシウム、臭化カルシウム、ヨウ化カルシウム、塩化マグネシウム、臭化マグネシウム、ヨウ化マグネシウム、塩化ナトリウム、臭化ナトリウム、ヨウ化ナトリウム、塩化アンモニウム、臭化アンモニウム、ヨウ化アンモニウム、三塩化カリウム、三臭化カリウム、および三ヨウ化カリウムから成る群から選択されるものである方法。
