Z0は、−C2H4−、−(CH2)4−、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−、−C2F4−、−CH2CF2−、−CF2CH2−、−CH2O−、−OCH2−、−COO−または−OCF2−を表し、式VおよびVIにおいては単結合も表し、式VおよびVIIIにおいては−CF2O−も表し、および
rは、0または1を表し、
sは、0または1を表す。

X0は上で示される意味を有し、
Lは、HまたはFを表し、
alkylは、炭素数1〜7のアルキルを表し、
R’は、炭素数1〜7のアルキル、炭素数1〜6のアルコキシまたは炭素数2〜7のアルケニルを表し、および
alkenylおよびalkenyl*は、それぞれ互いに独立に、炭素数2〜7のアルケニルを表す。
表Cは、一般に本発明による混合物に添加される使用可能なドーパントを示す。混合物は、好ましくは0〜10質量%、特には0.01〜5質量%、特に好ましくは、0.01〜3質量%のドーパントを含む。
−Δnは589nmおよび20℃における光学異方性を表わし、
−γ1は20℃における回転粘度(mPa・s)を表わし、
−V10は透過(基板表面に垂直な視角)が10%である電圧(V)を表し(閾電圧)、
−V90は透過(基板表面に垂直な視角)が90%である電圧(V)を表し、
−Δεは20℃および1kHzにおける誘電異方性(Δε=ε‖−ε⊥、ここでε‖は分子の長軸に平行な誘電率、ε⊥はそれに垂直な誘電率を表す)を表わす。
Claims (20)
- 以下の式Ia〜Ifより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物と、式PPGU−n−Fより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物とを含むことを特徴とする液晶媒体。
(式中、
R0は、ハロゲン化されているかまたは置換されていない炭素数1〜15のアルキルまはたアルコキシ基を表し、ただし加えて、これらの基の1個以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立に、酸素原子が互いに直接結合しないようにして、−C≡C−、−CF2O−、−CH=CH−、
−O−、−CO−O−または−O−CO−で置き換えられていてもよく、
X0は、F、Cl、CN、SF5、SCN、NCS、炭素数6までのハロゲン化アルキル基、ハロゲン化アルケニル基、ハロゲン化アルコキシ基またはハロゲン化アルケニルオキシ基を表す。)
(式中、
nは、0、1、2、3、4、5、6、7、8、9、10、11または12を表す。) - 前記式Ia〜Icより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物と、式PPGU−n−Fより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶媒体。
- 前記式IaおよびIbより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物と、式PPGU−n−Fより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物とを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶媒体。
- 前記式Iaより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物と、式PPGU−n−Fより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物とを含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶媒体。
- 前記式Ibより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物と、式PPGU−n−Fより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物とを含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶媒体。
- 2〜30質量%の式Ia〜Ifの化合物と、
2質量%以下の式PPGU−n−Fの化合物と、
10〜60質量%の式IIおよび/またはIIIの化合物と、
20〜70質量%の式IX〜XIIIの化合物と、
4〜30質量%の式XVIIの化合物と、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜16のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体。 - 式Ia〜Ifより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物と、式PPGU−n−Fより選ばれる1種類以上の化合物とを、請求項6〜16のいずれか1項に記載の化合物の1種類以上と、または更なる液晶化合物および/または添加剤と混合することを特徴とする請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体の調製方法。
- 電気光学的目的のための請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体の使用。
- 請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体を備える電気光学的液晶ディスプレイ。
