Description
本願は、米国特許法119条(e)の下で、2006年4月27日に出願された米国仮特許出願第60/796,171号の利益を主張し、上記仮出願の内容の全ては、本明細書に参考として援用される。
(開示の分野)
本開示は、概して、構造部材が放射状に拡張され、ワークピースに取り付けられる場合に、ブッシング等の構造部材を整列させるためのアラインメント装置に関する。
放射状フランジを有する従来のブッシング等の構造部材は、一般に種々の理由のため、ワークピースの開口部へ取り付けられる。例えば、ブッシングの本体は典型的には、開口部の周辺領域を強化し、または構造的に支持する。加えて、ブッシングの放射状フランジは、座金として作動して締結クランプ荷重をワークピースおよび/または構造物接合へ伝達し、ボルトに対する軸受表面を画定し、摩耗表面を画定する等を行ってもよい。
本発明は、例えば、以下を提供する。
(項目1)
構造部材の放射状フランジを、ワークピースの第1の表面に対して設置させるために、取り付け工具のマンドレルとともに使用されるアラインメント装置であって、該放射状フランジは、該構造部材の第1の端部に設置され、該アラインメント装置は、
外側表面と、
該アラインメント装置を介して開口部を形成する内側表面であって、該マンドレルの拡張部分の長径より、少なくともわずかに小さいサイズの内径を有する、内側表面と、
該内側表面から該外側表面へ実質的に延在する接触表面であって、該接触表面は、該構造部材の端部表面の少なくとも一部と、該ワークピースの第2の表面の少なくとも一部とに当接する大きさであり、該ワークピースの第2の表面は、該ワークピースの該第1の表面と正対し、該構造部材の端部表面は、該放射状フランジを有する該構造部材の該第1の端部と正対する、接触表面と
を備える、アラインメント装置。
(項目2)
上記内側表面と該内側表面に隣接して設置される領域とを備える一定量の材料は、上記マンドレルの拡張部分の長径によって、放射状に拡張される場合に弾性がある、項目1に記載のアラインメント装置。
(項目3)
上記内側表面と該内側表面に隣接して設置される領域とを備える一定量の材料は、上記マンドレルの拡張部分の長径によって、放射状に拡張される場合に塑性的に変形可能である、項目1に記載のアラインメント装置。
(項目4)
上記アラインメント装置の内径は、上記構造部材の内径にほぼ等しい、項目1に記載のアラインメント装置。
(項目5)
上記アラインメント装置はナイロンから成る、項目1に記載のアラインメント装置。
(項目6)
上記内側表面に隣接する受容領域であって、上記アラインメント装置が上記構造部材から離間している間、該構造部材の接触表面が、上記ワークピースの第2の表面に当接するように、該ワークピースから突出する該構造部材の一部を受けるサイズである、受容領域をさらに備える、項目1に記載のアラインメント装置。
(項目7)
構造部材をフランジでワークピースに取り付けるための取り付けシステムであって、
取り付け工具に結合可能なマンドレルであって、該構造部材を放射状に拡張させるサイズの主要外周部分を有する、マンドレルと、
該マンドレルが該構造部材を放射状に拡張する場合に、該マンドレルを該構造部材と整列させるように構成されるアラインメント装置であって、該アラインメント装置は、
外側表面と、
該外側表面と正対する内側表面であって、該内側表面は該アラインメント装置を通る通路を形成し、該通路は該マンドレルの該主要外周部分の外周より小さい外周を有する、内側表面と、
該内側表面と該外側表面との間に位置する接触表面であって、該マンドレルが該構造部材を放射状に拡張し、該通路を介して延在する場合に、該内側表面が該マンドレルを該構造部材と整列させるように、該ワークピースに当接するように構成される、接触表面と
を備える、アラインメント装置と
を備える、取り付けシステム。
(項目8)
上記アラインメント装置は、上記マンドレルを上記ワークピースと整列させるように促すほど十分に剛性があるが、該アラインメント装置が該ワークピースを損傷せずに、該マンドレルの少なくとも主要外周部分が、上記通路を通過することが可能なほど十分に柔軟である、項目7に記載の取り付けシステム。
(項目9)
上記アラインメント装置は、上記内側表面と該内側表面に隣接して設置される領域とを備える一定量の材料を備え、該材料は、該材料が上記マンドレルの主要外周部分によって放射状に拡張される場合に、弾性的に変形される、項目7に記載の取り付けシステム。
(項目10)
上記アラインメント装置は、上記内側表面と該内側表面に隣接して設置される領域とを備える一定量の材料を備え、該材料は、該材料が上記マンドレルの主要外周部分によって放射状に拡張される場合に、塑性的に変形される、項目7に記載の取り付けシステム。
(項目11)
上記外側表面は、上記構造部材のフランジの外周より大きな外周を有する、項目7に記載の取り付けシステム。
(項目12)
構造部材をワークピース内の開口部へ取り付ける方法であって、
アラインメント装置を介して、マンドレルの拡張部分を引くことであって、該アラインメント装置は該ワークピースの第1の表面に対して位置し、該アラインメント装置はそこを介する開口部を形成する内側表面を有し、該開口部は、該マンドレルの拡張部分の長径より少なくともわずかに小さい内径を有する、ことと、
該マンドレルの拡張部分が、該アラインメント装置の開口部を介して引かれる場合、該構造部材の放射状フランジを、該ワークピースの第2の表面に対して堅固に設置させることであって、該ワークピースの第2の表面は、該ワークピースの第1の表面と正対する、ことと、
該マンドレルの拡張部分が、該アラインメント装置の開口部を介して引かれる場合に、該構造部材を該ワークピースと整列させることと、
該マンドレルの拡張部分を、該構造部材を介して引き、該構造部材を放射状に拡張させ、該ワークピースに固定することと
を含む、方法。
(項目13)
上記構造部材の放射状フランジを、上記ワークピースの第2の表面に対して堅固に設置させることは、該構造部材の長手方向軸を、該ワークピース内の開口部の長手方向軸と整列させることを含む、項目12に記載の方法。
(項目14)
上記構造部材が上記ワークピース内に取り付けられた後、上記アラインメント装置は、上記マンドレルおよび該ワークピースから分離される、項目12に記載の方法。
(項目15)
上記マンドレルの拡張部分を、上記構造部材を介して引き、該構造部材を放射状に拡張させ、上記ワークピースに固定する前に、該ワークピースの第1の表面から外側へ延在する該構造部材の一部を、上記アラインメント装置の受容領域内に位置付けることを、さらに含む、項目12に記載の方法。
(項目16)
構造部材をワークピース内の開口部に取り付ける方法であって、
アラインメント装置を介して、マンドレルの第1の部分を移動させることであって、該アラインメント装置は、該アラインメント装置を介する開口部を形成する内側表面を有し、該開口部は、該マンドレルの拡張部分の長径より、少なくともわずかに小さい内径を有する、ことと、
該構造部材が該ワークピースの該開口部に位置付けられた後、該構造部材内に形成される通路を介して該マンドレルの第1の部分を移動させることと、
該取り付け工具に該マンドレルを係合することであって、該工具は該アラインメント装置から該ワークピースの反対側に位置する、ことと、
該構造部材の第1の端部に位置する放射状フランジの少なくとも一部に対して、該取り付け工具の先端部分を当接することと、
該取り付け工具を起動し、該マンドレルの拡張部分を、該アラインメント装置内の該開口部を介して引くことであって、該マンドレルの拡張部分を、該アラインメント装置内の該開口部を介して引くために必要な一定量の力は、該取り付け工具の先端部分によって反応し、該先端部分は、該構造部材の該放射状フランジへ一定量の圧力を加え、該放射状フランジを、該ワークピースの第1の表面に対して堅固に設置させ、該第1の表面は、該ワークピースの該反対側に位置する、ことと

Claims (9)
- 構造部材の放射状フランジをワークピースの第1の表面に対して設置させるために、取り付け工具のマンドレルとともに使用されるアラインメント装置であって、該放射状フランジは、該構造部材の第1の端部に設置され、
該アラインメント装置は、該マンドレルによって実質的な量だけ放射状に拡張されたときに、非拡張状態から拡張状態に弾性変形する非金属材料を含む弾性本体を含み、
該弾性本体は、
外側表面と、
該アラインメント装置を介して開口部を形成する内側表面であって、該マンドレルの拡張部分の長径より、少なくともわずかに小さいサイズの内径を有する、内側表面と、
該内側表面から該外側表面へ実質的に延在する接触表面であって、該接触表面は、該構造部材の端部表面の少なくとも一部と、該ワークピースの第2の表面の少なくとも一部とに当接する大きさであり、該ワークピースの第2の表面は、該ワークピースの該第1の表面と正対し、該構造部材の端部表面は、該放射状フランジを有する該構造部材の該第1の端部と正対する、接触表面と
を含む、アラインメント装置。 - 前記内側表面と該内側表面に隣接して設置される領域とを含む一定量の材料は、前記マンドレルの拡張部分の長径によって、放射状に拡張される場合に弾性がある、請求項1に記載のアラインメント装置。
- 前記アラインメント装置の内径は、前記構造部材の内径にほぼ等しい、請求項1に記載のアラインメント装置。
- 前記アラインメント装置はナイロンから成る、請求項1に記載のアラインメント装置。
- 前記内側表面に隣接する受容領域であって、前記アラインメント装置が前記構造部材から離間している間、該構造部材の接触表面が、前記ワークピースの第2の表面に当接するように、該ワークピースから突出する該構造部材の一部を受けるサイズである、受容領域をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のアラインメント装置。
- 1つの端部においてフランジを有する構造部材をワークピースに取り付けるための取り付けシステムであって、
取り付け工具に結合可能なマンドレルであって、該構造部材を放射状に拡張させるサイズの主要外周部分を有する、マンドレルと、
該マンドレルが該構造部材を放射状に拡張する場合に、該マンドレルを該構造部材と整列させるように構成されるアラインメント装置と
を含み、
該アラインメント装置は、該マンドレルによって実質的な量だけ放射状に拡張されたときに、非拡張状態から拡張状態に弾性変形する非金属材料を含む弾性本体を含み、
該弾性本体は、
外側表面と、
該外側表面と正対する内側表面であって、該内側表面は該アラインメント装置を通る通路を形成し、該通路は該マンドレルの該主要外周部分の外周より小さい外周を有する、内側表面と、
該内側表面と該外側表面との間に位置する接触表面であって、該接触表面は、該マンドレルが該構造部材を放射状に拡張し、該通路を介して延在する場合に、該内側表面が該マンドレルを該構造部材と整列させるように、該構造部材の端部表面の少なくとも一部分および該ワークピースの少なくとも一部分に当接するように構成されている、接触表面と
