前記ガラス板が、SiO2、Al2O3およびR2Oを含むとともに、前記R2Oの含有率が0.01〜2.0質量%であって当該R2Oの少なくとも一部を構成するNa2Oの含有率が0.01〜0.15質量%であるガラス組成物からなり、
前記ガラス原料が、前記Al2O3の原料として、Na2Oを不純物として0.1〜0.6質量%の範囲で含有するアルミニウム酸化物を含む、液晶表示装置用ガラス基板の製造方法、を提供する。

・Na2O:0.01〜0.15%、(0.01〜0.13%)、{0.02〜0.12%}、[0.03〜0.10%]

Claims (11)
- ガラス原料を熔融して熔融ガラスを生成する工程と、
前記熔融ガラスをガラス板へと成形する工程と、を含み、
前記ガラス板が、SiO2、Al2O3およびR2Oを含むとともに、前記R2Oの含有率が0.01〜2.0質量%であって当該R2Oの少なくとも一部を構成するNa2Oの含有率が0.01〜0.15質量%であるガラス組成物からなり、
前記ガラス原料が、前記Al2O3の原料として、Na2Oを不純物として0.1〜0.6質量%の範囲で含有するアルミニウム酸化物を含み、
前記ガラス組成物に含まれるNa 2 Oの50質量%を超える量が、前記アルミニウム酸化物に含まれるNa 2 Oに由来するものであり、
前記ガラス原料が、Na 2 O以外の酸化物の原料に不純物として含まれる場合を除き、ナトリウム化合物を実質的に含まない、液晶表示装置用ガラス基板の製造方法。
ここで、Rは、Li、NaおよびKから選ばれる少なくとも1種であるとともに少なくともその一部がNaである。 - 前記ガラス組成物が、SnO2をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラス組成物が、Fe2O3をさらに含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラス組成物が、Al2O3を10〜25質量%の範囲で含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラス組成物が、前記R2Oとして、Na2OとともにK2Oを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラス原料がカリウム化合物を含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 質量%により表示して、前記ガラス組成物が、前記R2Oとして、Li2O、Na2OおよびK2Oをそれぞれ以下の範囲で含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
Li2O:0〜0.1%
Na2O:0.01〜0.15%
K2O:0〜1.9% - 前記K2Oの含有率が0.2%を超える、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 質量%により表示して、前記ガラス組成物が、
SiO2:50〜70%
B2O3:1〜18%
Al2O3:10〜25%
MgO:0〜10%
CaO:0〜20%
SrO:0〜20%
BaO:0〜10%
Li2O:0〜0.1%
Na2O:0.01〜0.15%
K2O:0〜1.9%
を含み、
当該ガラス組成物におけるMOの含有率が5〜30%である、請求項7に記載の方法。
ここで、Mは、Mg、Ca、SrおよびBaから選ばれる少なくとも1種である。 - 前記アルミニウム酸化物におけるNa2Oの含有率が0.2〜0.6質量%である、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記アルミニウム酸化物におけるNa2Oの含有率が0.25〜0.6質量%である、請求項10に記載の方法。
