Description
工時、ワークの任意箇所p1,p2,p3,p4に対して、従来のラジアスエンドミルの底刃4のように垂直方向から入るのではなく、斜め方向から斜め切りするように入るため、切削抵抗が減少し、切り屑の薄肉化及び軽量化を図ることができるとともに、切り屑の薄肉化及び軽量化に伴い切り屑を円滑に外部に排出可能になり、切り屑の干渉によるラジアスエンドミルの破損及び加工面の不良を防止することができる。

Claims (4)
- 全体形状が略円柱形状をし、外周部に形成されたスパイラル形状の外周刃と、端面部に形成された底刃と、前記外周刃と前記底刃とが交わる角部に形成されたR刃とを備えるラジアスエンドミルにおいて、
前記底刃の稜線は、前記端面部の中心から前記R刃の稜線と交わる自由端まで、平面視において凸円弧状の曲率円により構成されていることを特徴とするラジアスエンドミル。 - 前記底刃稜線の曲率半径は、前記外周部の直径寸法Dの1/4倍に設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のラジアスエンドミル。
- 前記底刃稜線の曲率半径は、前記外周部の直径寸法Dの1/2倍から1/4倍までの範囲に設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のラジアスエンドミル。
- 前記R刃の稜線は、前記底刃の稜線が該R刃の稜線と交わる自由端から、該R刃の稜線が前記外周刃の稜線と交わる自由端まで、平面視及び側面視において、前記底刃の稜線の曲率と同一の曲率を有する凸円弧状の曲率円により構成され、
また、前記R刃のR中心位置は、前記底刃の稜線の自由端から前記R刃の半径寸法分、回転軸方向に離れた位置にある仮想横断面上に位置すると共に、前記外周部の直径寸法Dから前記R刃の半径寸法の2倍(=2R)を減じた値(=D−2R)を直径とする仮想円上に位置し、かつ、該仮想円上の1/24円(内角15度)から1/6円(内角60度)の範囲に位置する
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のラジアスエンドミル。
