Abstract
【解決手段】1重量%〜66重量%のヘキサフルオルプロピレン含量を有し、且つ低い結晶度を有する弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体であって、該共重合体が、36重量%〜66重量%のヘキサフルオルプロピレンを有するときに、ゼロの融解ΔHを有する、弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体。

Description
本発明は、化学の分野においてフルオロポリマーとして分類される化合物、より具体的に言えば、弗化ビニリデン(VDF)とヘキサフルオルプロピレン(HFP)との共重合体、そして更により具体的には極めて低い結晶度を有するか又は結晶度を全く有しないかかる共重合体、並びにそれらの製造法及び使用法に関する。かかる共重合体はすべてのHFP含量レベルにおいて高い可撓性を示し、しかも高いHFPレベルにおいてさえも低い表面粘着性を示す熱可塑性共重合体である。
米国特許3051677は、30〜70重量%のヘキサフルオルプロピレン単量体及び70〜30重量%の弗化ビニリデン単量体の範囲内での弗化ビニリデン及びヘキサフルオルプロピレン(HFP)のバッチ式乳化及び連続式乳化共重合法について記載している。この文献に記載される共重合体は、例示される生成物について文献に記載される特性によって確認されるように比較的高い結晶度を有している。バッチ法からの同様の物質については、モッギー氏他がPolymer Bulletin, Vol.7, pp.115-122(1982)において記載している。

融解温度(℃)=162.16−3.192(HFP 重量%)
によって規定される。
(i)粘着性の低下:容易な取り扱い及びより良好な現場実施が可能になる。
(ii)他の重合体、特にポリアクリレート及びポリメタクリレートの異なるエステルとの混和性の向上
(iii)より低い融解温度:典型的な成形プロセスでより容易な製造が可能になる。
(iv)降伏点でのより高い伸び:より良好な性能が可能になる。
(v)降伏点でのより低い応力:より低いモジュラスによってプロセスや製造が容易になる。
(vi)混合性の向上:より低い結晶度:硬質領域の大きさ及び容積分率の減少の故に他の重合体とのより緊密な混合が可能になる。
(vii)より透明な溶液/曇りのない溶液:結晶度の低下によって引き起こされる硬質領域の大きさ及び容積分率の減少は、重合体鎖の溶媒和の向上をもたらし、従って重合体溶液のゲル化を遅らせる。
(viii)重合体フィルム及びプラックシートの光学透明性の向上
(ix)エラストマー性の向上
(x)溶液のより長い貯蔵寿命:結晶質領域の減少によるより良好な溶解性は、重合体鎖の溶媒和の向上をもたらし、従って重合体溶液のゲル化を遅らせる。

(iii)ラテックス中における重合体のより高い濃度(これは、輸送及び貯蔵に対して重合体の単位重量当たりのより低いコスト、並びにより良好な被膜形成特性を提供する)
(iv)光学的特性の向上:透明性の面で従来技術よりの優秀。多くの被覆用途において、透明な被膜形成性樹脂を持つことが重要である。

ここで、本発明の各具体例を製造して使用する態様について、その特定の具体例を参照しながら例示する。
VDF/HFP共重合体の内部結晶度の調製及び比較
上記の方法(例1、7、8、実施例)、米国特許3051677に記載される方法(例2、3、6、比較例)及び米国特許3178399に記載される方法(例4、5、比較例)によってVDFとHFPとの共重合体を製造した。表1は、初期にそして定常状態反応(S.S.)間に供給したHFP重量%、反応ラテックスから樹脂を分離するのに使用した方法(酸凝固又は酸凝固を行わない)、及びDSCによって実測された内部結晶度を示す。また、表1には、フルオルエラストマーであるViton Aの市場で得られた試料(例9)で実測された内部結晶度の比較も含まれる。
本願の方法(例14、18、20、21)、米国特許3178399の方法(例11、16)、米国特許5093247の方法(例10、12、15,19)及びインドネシア特許出願W98105の方法(例13、17)によってVDF/HFP共重合体の追加的な例を製造した。HFP含量、融点及び融解△Hを表2に記載する。
Claims (4)
- 1重量%〜66重量%のヘキサフルオルプロピレン含量を有し、且つ低い結晶度を有する弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体であって、
該共重合体が、36重量%〜66重量%のヘキサフルオルプロピレンを有するときに、
ゼロの融解ΔHを有する、弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体。 - 15重量%〜66重量%のヘキサフルオルプロピレン含量を有する請求項1記載の弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体。
- 36重量%以上のヘキサフルオルプロピレン含量及びゼロ低結晶度を有する請求項1記載の弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体。
- (a)反応器に、ヘキサフルオルプロピレン及び弗化ビニリデンと、水と、重合を開始させる開始剤と、重合間に開始剤及び反応塊の両方を乳化することができる水溶性界面活性剤とを、第1のヘキサフルオルプロピレン対弗化ビニリデン重量比で仕込み、
(b)弗化ビニリデン及びヘキサフルオルプロピレンを第2の重量比で反応器に供給し、そして
(c)所望の弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体を得る、
ことを含み、該第1の重量比が該第2の重量比の3〜5倍である方法によって製造した請求項1記載の弗化ビニリデンヘキサフルオルプロピレン共重合体。
