より優れた繊維化が観察され、128kg/m3の密度を有する25mm厚のブランケットの引張強度を調べることによって評価した。
出願人は、繊維化を改善するこの効果が、アルカリ土類シリケート繊維に一般に適用可能な粘度及び表面張力を変更する効果であると推測し、そのため本発明は、アルカリ土類シリケート繊維の繊維化を改善するために、そのような添加物を上記で示された量で一般に使用することを包含する。

- アルミノシリケート耐火煉瓦と反応せずに、1260℃の温度に対する持続的な耐性が要求される用途における請求項14〜25のいずれか一項に記載の繊維を含む本体の断熱材としての使用。
- アルミノシリケート耐火煉瓦と反応せずに、1300℃の温度に対する持続的な耐性が要求される用途における請求項30に記載の使用。
