Description
本願は、2004年3月4日に出願された、フォトクロミック光学製品についての米国特許出願番号10/793,589、および2004年3月4日に出願された、フォトクロミック光学製品についての米国特許出願番号10/793,588に関連する。
本発明は多重焦点光学製品に関する。より詳しくは、本発明は、光影響機能を有する多重焦点光学製品に関する。さらにより詳しくは、本発明は、多重焦点眼用製品、たとえば、フォトクロミック、偏光、着色性、および/または他の光変性機能(これらに限定されない)から選択することができる光影響機能を有する眼用レンズに関する。
眼への入射光の透過を減少させながら、良好な画像品質を提供する透明な眼用製品は、サンレンズ、プラノレンズ、ファッションレンズ、およびたとえば処方箋レンズなどの視覚矯正眼用レンズが挙げられる種々の用途に必要である。その必要性に応えて、フォトクロミックプラスチック眼用製品は、それらが提供する重さがガラスレンズより有利であるので、大きな注目を集めている。
本発明の限定ではない1実施形態では、(1)少なくとも1種の光影響特性を有するように適用された硬質光基材と、(2)該基材上にある光学品質樹脂の多重焦点層とを含む多重焦点光学製品を提供する。本発明の他の非限定的な実施形態では、(1)硬質光基材と、(2)該硬質光基材の少なくとも1表面の少なくとも一部の上にある、透明光影響性層、たとえばフォトクロミックポリマー被膜および/または偏光層と、(3)該光影響性層上にある光学品質樹脂の多重焦点層とを含む多重焦点光学製品を提供する。

(式中、AはC1−12アルキルを含み、Arはフェニレン分子を含み、RはC1−5アルキルを含み、mは1〜6の整数であり、nは1〜12の整数である)で表される芳香族エステルであってもよく、該不飽和エステルは、アクリル酸またはメタクリル酸のエステルでもよい。そのようなエチレン性不飽和エステルの限定ではない例として、メチルアクリレート、メチルメタクリレート、フェノキシエチルアクリレート、フェノキシエチルメタクリレート、メトキシエチルメタクリレート、メトキシエチルアクリレート、エトキシエチルメタクリレートおよびエトキシエチルアクリレートが挙げられる。
使用されるモールドに適正にマッチするベースカーブを有するポリカーボネート試験レンズを、石けん水で洗浄し、乾燥し、次いで、酸素を100ml/分の速さでPlasmatech機の真空チャンバーに導入しながら、100ワットのパワー設定でPlasmatech機を使用して、酸素プラズマで1分処理した。次いで、レンズを脱イオン水で濯ぎ、空気乾燥した。フォトクロミックポリウレタン被膜組成物を、スピンコーティング(0.22グラム湿潤重量を目標として)によって、プラズマ処理されたレンズに塗布し、120℃のオーブン中で1時間熱硬化した。ポリウレタン組成物の成分およびそれらの量を表1に示す。フォトクロミックポリウレタン被膜の厚さは、約20ミクロンであった。これらのレンズ(プレフォーム)を、以下に記載するモールドセットの1半部分(後部半部分)として使用した。

(1)フォトクロミック材料およびチヌビン144を混合し、該混合物をN−メチルピロリドンとブレンドした。該ブレンドを60℃で約1時間混合した。次いで、配合物の残留成分を、加え、得られた混合物を、室温でさらに1時間撹拌した。
光学樹脂組成物が、70重量%のPRO−6169樹枝状ポリエステルアクリレート、10重量%のDMPブロックイソシアネートエチルメタクリレート、10重量%の ヒロドキシエチルアクリレート、および0.2重量%のIrgacure819を含む以外は、実施例1の手段に従った。PRO−6169は、供給者によって、16個の末端水酸基を有するポリエステルポリオールをアクリル化し、平均でその約85〜90%をアクリレート基に変換して生成された樹枝状ポリエステルアクリレートであると報告されている。PRO−6169材料は、数平均分子量が700であり、重量平均分子量が3000であると報告されている。この実施例では、2個の2.00ベースカーブ試験レンズを使用した。
多重焦点樹脂を、90%のNXT7022樹枝状メタクリレート、10%のDMPブロックイソシアネートエチルメタクリレートおよび0.3%のIrgacure819を含む組成物で生成し、2.00、6.00および8.00ベースカーブを有するレンズを使用した以外は、実施例1の手順に従った。6.00および8.00ベースカーブレンズで製造した多重焦点レンズは、許容しうる美観を有していた。
多重焦点樹脂を、50%のPRO−6169樹枝状アクリレート、20%のポリエチレングリコール400ジメタクリレート(SartomerからのSR−603)、20%のヒロドキシエチルメタクリレート、10%のDMPブロックイソシアネートエチルメタクリレートおよび0.3%のIrgacure819を含む組成物から生成し、2.00ベースカーブを有するレンズを使用した以外は、実施例1の手順を使用した。製造された多重焦点レンズは、許容しうるレンズ美観を有していた。
多重焦点樹脂を、50%のPRO−6169樹枝状アクリレート、20%のトリエチレングリコールジメタクリレート、20%のヒロドキシエチルメタクリレート、10%のDMPブロックイソシアネートエチルメタクリレートおよび0.3%のIrgacure819を含む組成物から生成し、6.00ベースカーブを有するレンズを使用した以外は、実施例1の手順を使用した。製造された多重焦点は、許容しうるレンズ美観を有していた。
本発明は、例えば、以下を提供する:
(項目1)
多重焦点光学製品であって、
(a)少なくとも1種の光影響特性を有するように適用された硬質光基材と、
(b)該基材上にある光学品質樹脂の多重焦点層と、
を含む多重焦点光学製品。
(項目2)
上記光影響特性が、フォトクロミズム、偏光性、着色性、またはこれらの特性のうちの2種以上の組み合わせから選択される項目1記載の多重焦点光学製品。
(項目3)
上記光学製品が眼用製品である項目2記載の多重焦点光学製品。
(項目4)
上記眼用光学製品が屈折率1.48〜1.74のレンズであり、上記多重焦点層が、二重焦点、三重焦点層または累進多重焦点層である項目3記載の多重焦点光学製品。
(項目5)
上記基材が、アリルジグリコールカーボネートモノマーを含む重合性組成物から製造された基材、熱可塑性ポリカーボネートを含む組成物から製造された基材、ポリ(ウレアウレタン)を含む組成物から製造された基材、アクリル官能性モノマーを含む重合性組成物から製造された基材、ポリエステルを含む組成物から製造された基材、多官能性イソシアネートとポリチオールモノマーまたはポリエピスルフィドモノマーとの反応生成物を含む組成物から製造された基材、およびポリウレタン、ならびにポリチオウレタンまたはポリオレフィンを含む組成物から製造された基材から選択される項目2記載の多重焦点光学製品。
(項目6)
上記多重焦点層が、樹枝状ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、少なくとも1種のマレイミド誘導体を含む組成物から製造される透明層、架橋性ポリエポキシドおよびポリ酸を含む組成物から製造される透明層、熱硬化性ポリウレタンを含む組成物から製造される透明層、放射線硬化性アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、不飽和ポリエステルを含む組成物から製造される透明層、ポリチオウレタンを含む組成物から製造される透明層、モノ(チオ)(メタ)アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、エピスルフィドを含む組成物から製造される透明層、ならびにポリ(ウレアウレタン)を含む組成物から製造される透明層から選択される項目5記載の多重焦点光学製品。
(項目7)
多重焦点光学製品であって、
(a)硬質光基材と、
(b)該基材の少なくとも1表面の少なくとも一部の上にある光影響性層と、
(c)該光影響性層上にある光学品質樹脂の多重焦点層と、
を含む多重焦点光学製品。
(項目8)
上記光影響性層が、フォトクロミズム、偏光性、着色性、またはこれらの光影響特性のうちの2種以上の組み合わせから選択される光影響特性を含む項目7記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目9)
上記光学製品が1.48〜1.74の屈折率を有するレンズであり、上記多重焦点層が二重焦点層または三重焦点層である項目8記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目10)
上記光基材が、アリルジグリコールカーボネートモノマーを含む重合性組成物から製造された基材、熱可塑性ポリカーボネートを含む組成物から製造された基材、ポリ(ウレアウレタン)を含む組成物から製造された基材、アクリル官能性モノマーを含む重合性組成物から製造された基材、ポリエステルを含む組成物から製造された基材、多官能性イソシアネートとポリチオールモノマーまたはポリエピスルフィドモノマーとの反応生成物を含む組成物から製造された基材、およびポリウレタン、ならびにポリチオウレタンまたはポリオレフィンを含む組成物から製造された基材から選択される項目8記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目11)
上記多重焦点層が、樹枝状ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、少なくとも1種のマレイミド誘導体を含む組成物から製造される透明層、架橋性ポリエポキシドおよびポリ酸を含む組成物から製造される透明層、熱硬化性ポリウレタンを含む組成物から製造される透明層、放射線硬化性アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、不飽和ポリエステルを含む組成物から製造される透明層、ポリチオウレタンを含む組成物から製造される透明層、モノ(チオ)(メタ)アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、エピスルフィドを含む組成物から製造される透明層、ならびにポリ(ウレアウレタン)を含む組成物から製造される透明層から選択される項目10記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目12)
上記多重焦点製品が、さらに、上記多重焦点層上にある耐摩耗性被膜を含む項目9記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目13)
さらに、上記耐摩耗性被膜上にある反射防止被膜を含む項目12記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目14)
上記耐摩耗性被膜がオルガノシランを含む項目12記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目15)
上記光影響性層がフォトクロミック層であり、該フォトクロミック層が、フォトクロミック量の少なくとも1種の有機フォトクロミック材料を含有する有機フォトクロミック被膜を含む項目9記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目16)
上記有機フォトクロミック材料が、ピランを含む材料、クロメンを含む材料、オキサジンを含む材料、フルギドを含む材料、フルギミドを含む材料、ジアリールエタンを含む材料およびこれらのフォトクロミック材料の混合物から選択される項目15記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目17)
上記クロメンが、ナフト[1,2−b]ピラン、ナフト[2,1−b]ピラン、スピロ−9−フルオレノ[1,2−b]ピラン、フェナントロピラン、キノピラン、またはインデノ縮合ナフトピランから選択されるナフトピランであり、上記オキサジンが、ナフトオキサジンおよびスピロ(インドリン)ピリドベンゾオキサジンから選択される項目16記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目18)
上記光基材が熱可塑性ポリカーボネートを含む組成物から製造され、上記多重焦点層が樹枝状ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレートを含む組成物から製造され、かつ上記透明光影響性層がフォトクロミックポリウレタン系被膜である項目11記載の多重焦点製品。
(項目19)
多重焦点光学製品を製造する方法であって、多重焦点モールドとプレフォームの表面との間に光学品質硬化性樹脂を接触させて配置するステップであって、該プレフォームは少なくとも1種の光影響特性を有するように適合させた硬質光基材を含むステップと、該光学品質樹脂を硬化させることによって、上記プレフォームの表面の上に多重焦点層を設けるステップと、を含む方法。
(項目20)
上記光影響特性が、フォトクロミズム、偏光性、着色性、またはこれらの特性のうちの2種以上の組み合わせから選択される項目19記載の方法。
(項目21)
上記光基材が、アリルジグリコールカーボネートモノマーを含む重合性組成物から製造された基材、熱可塑性ポリカーボネートを含む組成物から製造された基材、ポリ(ウレアウレタン)を含む組成物から製造された基材、アクリル官能性モノマーを含む重合性組成物から製造された基材、ポリエステルを含む組成物から製造された基材、多官能性イソシアネートとポリチオールモノマーまたはポリエピスルフィドモノマーとの反応生成物を含む組成物から製造された基材、ポリウレタン、ならびにポリチオウレタンまたはポリオレフィンを含む組成物から製造された基材から選択される項目20記載の方法。
(項目22)
上記光基材が屈折率1.48〜1.74のレンズであり、上記多重焦点層が二重焦点層および三重焦点層から選択される項目21記載の方法。
(項目23)
上記光基材が屈折率1.48〜1.74のレンズであり、上記多重焦点層が累進層である項目21記載の方法。
(項目24)
上記多重焦点層が、樹枝状ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、少なくとも1種のマレイミド誘導体を含む組成物から製造される透明層、架橋性ポリエポキシドおよびポリ酸を含む組成物から製造される透明層、熱硬化性ポリウレタンを含む組成物から製造される透明層、放射線硬化性アクリレートを含む組成物から製造される透明層、ポリチオウレタンを含む組成物から製造される透明層、エピスルフィドを含む組成物から製造される透明層、ならびにポリ(ウレアウレタン)を含む組成物から製造される透明層から選択される項目22記載の方法。
(項目25)
上記プレフォームが、硬質光基材を含み、該基材の少なくとも1表面の少なくとも一部の上に透明光影響性層を有し、該光影響性層が、フォトクロミズム、偏光性、着色性、または該光影響特性の少なくとも2種の組み合わせから選択される光影響特性を含む項目24記載の方法。
(項目26)
上記光影響性層がフォトクロミック層であり、該フォトクロミック層が、フォトクロミック量の少なくとも1種の有機フォトクロミック材料を含有する有機フォトクロミック被膜を含む項目25記載の方法。
(項目27)
上記光基材が熱可塑性ポリカーボネートを含む組成物から製造され、上記多重焦点層が、樹枝状ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレートを含む組成物から製造され、かつ上記有機フォトクロミック被膜がフォトクロミックポリウレタン系被膜である項目26記載の方法。
