Abstract
Description
第1に、基板からのアルカリ金属がトランジスタ・マトリクス中に入り込む可能性を回避するために、アルカリ金属酸化物を意図的に加えることが本質的に自由でなければならないこと、
第2に、TFTマトリクス堆積工程で使用される試薬に耐えるべく化学的に十分な耐性を有すること、
第3に、基板に対する工程温度が高くなっても、ガラスとTFTアレイ中に存在するシリコンとの間の膨張のミスマッチは比較的低いレベルに保たれなければならないこと、そして
第4に、高品質の薄いシートの形態のガラスが低価格で形成されなければならないこと、すなわち、必要とする表面仕上げ状態を保証するのに大規模な研削および研磨を必要としてはならないことである。

Claims (5)
- 1個のガラスプリフォームを提供し、
該ガラスプリフォームを炉内で加熱して1個の塊りおよび1枚のプレ・シートを形成し、
前記塊りを前記プレ・シートから切り離し、
該プレ・シートを所定の幅に拡げ、
該プレ・シートを、所定の厚さを有する1枚のガラスシートに延伸する、
諸工程を含むことを特徴とする、ガラスシートの形成方法。 - 前記延伸工程は、前記プレ・シートにストレッチングアームを接触させ、かつ該ストレッチングアームを前記ガラスシートの流れ方向と直角な方向に移動させることを含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記延伸工程は、前記ストレッチングアームが前記プレ・シートに接触している間に、前記ストレッチングアームを、前記プレ・シートが細長くなるように該プレ・シートの流れの方向と平行な方向に移動させることをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記延伸工程中に前記ガラスシートに保護コーティングを施すとこを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスシートをスプールに巻き取る工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
