Abstract
【解決手段】8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置は、第1−第8気筒27A−27Hと、排気管47とを備える。第1−第8気筒27A−27Hはこの順序で点火される。排気管47が、第1−第8気筒27A−27Hからそれぞれ延出する第1−第8上流側排気管49A−49Hと、第1、第5上流側排気管49A,49Eの延出端部同士、第2、第6上流側排気管49B,49Fの延出端部同士、第3、第7上流側排気管49C,49Gの延出端部同士、および第4、第8上流側排気管49D,49Hの延出端部同士のそれぞれの結合部からそれぞれ延出する第1−第4中途部排気管50A−50Dと、これら第1−第4中途部排気管50A−50Dの各延出端部を大気側に連通させる下流側排気管51とを備える。

Description
上記排気管47が、上記第1−第8気筒27A−27Hからそれぞれ延出する第1−第8上流側排気管49A−49Hと、上記第1、第5上流側排気管49A,49Eの延出端部同士、第2、第6上流側排気管49B,49Fの延出端部同士、第3、第7上流側排気管49C,49Gの延出端部同士、および第4、第8上流側排気管49D,49Hの延出端部同士のそれぞれの結合部からそれぞれ延出する第1−第4中途部排気管50A−50Dと、これら第1−第4中途部排気管50A−50Dの各延出端部を大気側に連通させる下流側排気管51とを備えたものである。
上記排気通路48の中途部分よりも下流側における排気通路48の部分の開度を可変とする絞り部78を設けたものである。
上記排気管が、上記第1−第8気筒からそれぞれ延出する第1−第8上流側排気管と、上記第1、第5上流側排気管の延出端部同士、第2、第6上流側排気管の延出端部同士、第3、第7上流側排気管の延出端部同士、および第4、第8上流側排気管の延出端部同士のそれぞれの結合部からそれぞれ延出する第1−第4中途部排気管と、これら第1−第4中途部排気管の各延出端部を大気側に連通させる下流側排気管とを備えている。
上記排気通路の中途部分よりも下流側における排気通路の部分の開度を可変とする絞り部を設けている。

Claims (5)
- 第1−第8気筒と、これら第1−第8気筒から延出する排気管とを備え、上記第1−第8気筒がこの順序で点火されるようにした8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置において、
上記排気管が、上記第1−第8気筒からそれぞれ延出する第1−第8上流側排気管と、上記第1、第5上流側排気管の延出端部同士、第2、第6上流側排気管の延出端部同士、第3、第7上流側排気管の延出端部同士、および第4、第8上流側排気管の延出端部同士のそれぞれの結合部からそれぞれ延出する第1−第4中途部排気管と、これら第1−第4中途部排気管の各延出端部を大気側に連通させる下流側排気管とを備えたことを特徴とする8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置。 - 上記第1−第8気筒によりV型バンクを形成し、これら両バンクのうちの一方のバンクを上記第1、第4、第6、第7気筒により構成し、他方のバンクを第2、第3、第5、第8気筒により構成し、上記第1、第5気筒同士、第2、第6気筒同士、第3、第7気筒同士、および第4、第8気筒同士をクランク軸の軸方向で互いに隣接させたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置。
- 上記排気管内の排気通路に排気浄化用の触媒を設け、この触媒よりも上流側の排気通路内に2次空気を供給可能とする空気通路を形成したことを特徴とする請求項1、もしくは2に記載の8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置。
- 上記排気通路の径方向における上記触媒の径寸法よりも上記排気通路の長手方向における上記触媒の長さ寸法を、より大きくしたことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置。
- 上記エンジンを船外機の駆動源とし、上記排気管内の排気通路の中途部分を水の表面上の大気側に開放させるアイドリング排気通路を形成した8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置において、
上記排気通路の中途部分よりも下流側における排気通路の部分の開度を可変とする絞り部を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1から4のうちいずれか1つに記載の8気筒エンジンにおける排気装置。
