本発明は抗酸化剤として、クルミの種子からの抽出物を含有する皮膚外用剤に関する。さらに詳しくは、肌荒れ、シワなどを防いで皮膚の老化を防止する効果に優れた皮膚外用剤に関する。本発明でいう皮膚外用剤とは、基礎化粧品、メーキャップ化粧品、毛髪化粧品、芳香化粧品、ボディー化粧品等の化粧料も含む。

【従来の技術】
従来、皮膚の老化を停止させることは不可能としても、「紫外線」「酸化」「乾燥」といった外部環境条件からの防御を意図して、種々の皮膚外用剤が提案されている。このうち、「抗酸化」を目的としてビタミン、カロチノイド、フラボノイド、植物抽出物等が配合されてきた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、皮膚の肌荒れ、シワなどを防いで皮膚の老化を防止する効果は必ずしも満足できるとは言い難い。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、上記のような状況下でなされたものであり、抗酸化に優れる皮膚外用剤を開発すべく鋭意研究した結果、クルミの種子からの抽出物を配合することで上記目的が達成できることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。即ち、本発明はクルミの種子からの抽出物を含有することを特徴とする皮膚外用剤を提供するものである。

また、本発明は、前記クルミがフランスのグルノーブル地方に自生するクルミの特異変種（ＮｏｉｘｄｅＧｒｅｎｏｂｌｅＷａｌｎｕｔ）であることを特徴とする前記の皮膚外用剤を提供するものである。

更に、本発明は、前記クルミの種子からの抽出物が水で抽出された親水性活性成分を濃縮化したものである前記の皮膚外用剤を提供するものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の構成について詳述する。

本発明に用いるクルミはフランスのグルノーブル地方に自生する特異変種（ＮｏｉｘｄｅＧｒｅｎｏｂｌｅＷａｌｎｕｔ）のもので、これらの一種または二種以上が用いられる。

本発明のクルミの種子からの抽出物は、特にこだわらないが、クルミの種子を粉砕し、水により抽出した親水性活性成分を、濾過し、濃縮して得ることができる。本発明においては、抽出溶媒として水を用いることが肝要であり、その結果抗酸化性のある親水性の活性成分が得られる。本発明のクルミの種子からの抽出物は、市販品として例えば、ガテフォッセ社（ＧＡＴＴＥＦＯＳＳＥＳ．Ａ．）の「ガチュリンエイジディフェンス（ＧＡＴＵＬＩＮＥＡＧＥＤＥＦＥＮＳＥ）（登録商標）」が挙げられる。

クルミの種子からの抽出物の配合量は、皮膚外用剤全量中に対し、０．００１〜３０．０重量％、好ましくは０．０１〜１０．０重量％である。

本発明の皮膚外用剤には上記の必須成分以外に、通常、化粧品や医薬品等の皮膚外用剤に使用される他の成分を配合することができる。かかる他の成分としては下記成分が例示され、本発明の皮膚外用剤は、上記必須成分にこれらの一種又は二種以上を配合して常法に従って製造される。
