Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.(1)全組成物に対して多くとも64体積%の、少なくとも20%の結晶 度および融点Tmを有するポリマー成分 (2)全組成物に対して少なくとも36体積%の、60〜120cm3/100 gのDBP数を有するカーボンブラックを含んでなる粒状導電性充填剤 を含んでなる組成物であって、 該組成物が (a)多くとも1.0Ω・cm、好ましくは多くとも0.9Ω・cmの20℃で の抵抗率、ρ20、および (b)少なくとも104、好ましくは少なくとも104.5の20℃〜(Tm+5℃) でのPTC変態 を有する組成物。 2.ポリマー成分が、ポリエチレン、好ましくは高密度ポリエチレンを含んで なる請求項1に記載の組成物。 3.(A)第1工程でTmより高い温度でポリマー成分と充填剤をブレンドし 、比エネルギー消費S1および20℃〜(Tm+5℃)でのPTC変態PTC1を 有する第1混合物を形成すること、 (B)第1混合物を冷却すること、および (C)第2工程で、Tmより高い温度で第1混合物を混合し、1.2S1以上の比 エネルギー消費および1.2PTC1以上の20℃〜(Tm+5℃)でのPTC変 態を有する最終混合物を得ること を含んでなる方法によって製造される請求項1に記載の組成物。 4.(A)請求項1に記載の導電性ポリマー組成物からなる抵抗要素;および (B)抵抗要素に取り付けられ、電源に接続できる2つの電極 を有してなる電気デバイスであって、 デバイスが、 (a)多くとも1.0Ωの20℃での抵抗、R20 (b)多くとも1.0Ω・cmの20℃での抵抗率、ρ20、および (c)少なくとも104、好ましくは少なくとも104.5の20℃〜(Tm+5℃ )でのPTC変態 を有する電気デバイス。 5.抵抗要素が0.51mm(0.020インチ)未満の厚さを有する請求項 4に記載のデバイス。 6.導電性ポリマー組成物が1回を越える混合サイクルを使用して製造される 請求項4に記載のデバイス。 7.導電性ポリマー組成物が架橋され、好ましくは1〜20Mrads相当で架橋 されている請求項4に記載のデバイス。 8.(1)100Ω・cm未満の20℃での抵抗率を有し、ならびに (2)(i)融点Tmを有するポリマー成分および(ii)粒状導電性充填剤を含 んでなる 導電性ポリマー組成物の製造方法であって、 該方法が、 (A)第1工程でTmより高い温度でポリマー成分と充填剤をブレンドし、比エ ネルギー消費S1および20℃〜(Tm+5℃)でのPTC変態PTC1を有する 第1混合物を形成すること、 (B)第1混合物を冷却すること、および (C)第2工程で、Tmより高い温度で第1混合物を混合し、1.2S1以上の比 エネルギー消費および1.2PTC1以上の20℃〜(Tm+5℃)でのPTC変 態を有する最終混合物を得ること を含んでなる方法。 9.工程(B)の後および工程(C)の前に第1混合物をTm以上の温度で少 なくとも1回混合し、次いで冷却する請求項8に記載の方法。 10.ポリマー成分がポリエチレンを含んでなり、粒状充填剤がカーボンブラ ックを含んでなり、好ましくはカーボンンブラックが60〜120cm3/10 0 gのDBP数を有する請求項8に記載の方法。
