Abstract

New human X chromosome gene known as gene C1, identified in Xq28 which codes for a protein known as protein p116GAP, containing a GAP domain which corresponds to a 148 aa long region, and an SH3 domain which corresponds to a 53 aa long region. The aforesaid protein p116GAP is made up of 946 aa and has a molecular weight of 116 KDa. The said gene C1 is used for the preparation of diagnostic and therapeutic kits, and for the study of genetic defects.
