Abstract

A tilt adjustment for an armrest for a car seat has a sliding element on the one part of the hinge engaging a cam on the other part. The position of the slider on the cam is controlled by the rotation of a knob which is coupled to the slider by a spiral groove. The design allows small adjustments without having a costly and precise gearing. One part of the hinge is fixed relative to the seat frame and is L-shaped to hang into the support position; the other part is straight.
