Abstract

1422176 Pharmaceutical tablets BEECHAM GROUP Ltd 1 May 1974 [5 May 1973 7 Dec 1973] 21502/73 and 56858/73 Heading A5B Pharmaceutical tablets comprise 10% to 70% by weight of heavy magnesium carbonate, 30% to 85% by weight of a semi-synthetic penicillin or cephalosparin which is suitable for oral administration and 0 to 40% by weight of conventional tabletting ingredients. The tablets may be produced by direct compression in a tablet press. Two different penicillins may be present in the tablets. The penicillins and cephalosparins may be cloxacillin, flucloxacillin, dicloxacillin, an α-ester of carbenicillin or ticarcillin, phenethicillin, propacillin, azidocillin, hetacillin, metampicillin, cyclocillin, epicillin, pivampicillin, talampicillin, cephalexin, cephadrine, ampicillin, amoxycillin and esters and salts thereof.
