Abstract
1424148 Plant growth regulator BAYER AG 18 June 1974 [19 June 1973] 26946/74 Heading C1B A plant growth regulator contains, as active ingredient a 1,4-dithiane derivative of formula in which R=alkyl (which may be substituted by hydroxyl, methoxy, methyl carbonyl, alkoxy carbonyl with 1-4 C atoms in allyl moiety, or halogen) alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl (optionally substituted by halogen in aryl moiety), Z = hydrogen or halogen, n=0, 1, or 2 and A<SP>(-)</SP> is one equivalent of an anion. The compound may be used alone or with a diluent or carrier and may contain 0À0005-2% w./w. of active compound. 0À1-100 kg. of active compound may be used per hectare of ground. The compound may act to inhibit or promote growth of vegetation, e.g. cereals or to accelerate or retard fruit ripening.
