1420719 Process for 2,5-disubstituted benzamides SOC D'ETUDES SCIENTIFIQUES ET INDUSTRIELLES DE L'ILE - DEFRANCE 26 Feb 1974 [1 March 1973] 8668/74 Heading C2C Compounds of Formula (I): are made by reacting a 2,5-disubstituted benzoic acid with chloroacetonitrile to give compounds of Formula (II) and thereafter reacting (II) with H 2 N(CH 2 ) n A (I may, if desired, be converted into salts; A is mono- or di-C 1-5 alkylamino, or a heterocyclic saturated ring containing N, O and/or S, B is C 1-5 alkyl or alkenyl, n is 1 or 2 and X is NH 2 , mono- or di-alkylamino, alkenyl or alkyl). A is, e.g., diethylamino or a group of Formula (III) where R is alkyl or alkenyl and m is 1 to 3, esp. a 1-ethyl-2-pyrrolidyl group.
