Abstract
1431434 Injection moulding thermosetting resins BRITISH INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS Ltd 6 July 1973 [7 July 1972] 31924/72 Heading B5A An article of a thermosetting resin composition containing a substantial proportion of an inert filler so that the composition has a very stiff plastic consistency is moulded by injecting the composition in a viscous state under pressure into a closed, cold mould whereby the composition is cooled to make it stiff enough to retain its shape on discharge from the mould, removing the uncured article from the mould and heating it to cure it without losing its shape. The resin may be phenol formaldehyde or an aminoplast. The filler may be glass fibre, asbestos fibre, or a powdered inorganic filler. The article may be moulded directly to a metal plate provided with keying formations.
