Abstract
1316400 Sewing machine cases MEFINA S A 19 Oct 1971 [6 Nov 1970] 48498/71 Heading A4B A case for a sewing machine having a base 10 surmounted by a free arm 13, comprises a boxlike pedestal 1 for housing the base 10 and arm 13 and having an upper surface 15 with an opening 14 shaped to receive the arm 13, the surface 15 defining a small work table at the level of the flat upper face 16 of the free arm 13, a plurality of flaps 2-5 hinged to the upper edge of the pedestal 1 for pivotal movement between a lowered position and a raised position in which they form walls of the case, and a cover 6 releasably secured by catches (7, 8), Fig. 1 (not shown) to close the case about the machine. As shown, the cover 6 is hinged to one flap 5. An alternative cover comprises two parts respectively hinged to the flaps 2 and 5. One wall 17 of the pedestal 1 may be hinged down to allow removal of the machine. A slidable or hinged accessory box 18 may be housed in the pedestal 1. A carrying handle is secured to the cover.
