Abstract

In an interconnecting reinforced concrete beam-column arrangement, a steel shoe 7 embedded in and welded to the longitudinal reinforcing bars of a beam 2 fits over a projecting steel joist section 5 of a column 1, the shoe being of inverted channel section and the joist of U-shaped or hallow section. To ensure predetermined alignment, interfitting steel members 6, 8 are also provided on the column and beam respectively. The beams of such a framework are bridged by floor members (3, Fig. 10, not shown). [GB1266174A]
