Abstract
The activity of liming departments in sugar mills is curtailed or discontinued, as the usual lime treatment is altered. Conventional calcination of calcium carbonate yielding calcium oxide for slaking and carbon dioxide to yield saturation gas when purified, are replaced by materials of at least equal quality, namely: hydrated lime as produced and consumed in large volumes industrially, and industrial carbon dioxide gas.
