Abstract

Ένας μετατροπέας ενέργειας από κύματα (1) αποτελούμενος από έναν ιστό (2) με μια κατασκευή για τη σύλληψη των κυμάτων (9) συνδεδεμένος με μια βάση (7) μέσω ενός σφαιρικού ή αρθρωτού συνδέσμου (6). Ο ιστός ταλαντώνεται καθώς τα κύματα κτυπούν τις διάφορες πλευρές της κατασκευής για τη σύλληψη των κυμάτων. Ο ιστός έχει την τάση να πηγαίνει προς την όρθια θέση. Η κίνηση του ιστού ενεργοποιεί συσκευές για την απορρόφηση και εξαγωγή ενέργειας, όπως έμβολα (3). Με τη μια άκρη συνδεδεμένη στον ιστό και την άλλη στη βάση (7) μέσω σφαιρικών ή αρθρωτών συνδέσμων (4) και (5), τα οποία επίσης περιορίζουν τη κίνηση του ιστού κατά μήκος ορισμένων μεσημβρινών με την χρήση καταλλήλων υδραυλικών εξαρτημάτων. Η δυνατότητα της κατασκευής για την σύλληψη των κυμάτων να κινείται κατά μήκος του ιστού αυξάνει την απορρόφηση ενέργειας. Η συσκευή είναι κατάλληλη για ρηχά και βαθειά νερά, επειδή μπορεί να δέχεται κύματα από όλες τις κατευθύνσεις και μπορεί να έχει και πλωτή μορφή.
