Abstract
990, 846. Photographic colour processes, stop baths. AGFA A. G. Oct. 24,1963 [Nov. 3, 1962], No. 42058/63. Heading G2C. The formation of colour fog in photographic images which have been colour developed and the silver image removed in a bleach-fix bath, is reduced by treatment in an aqueous iodide solution after colour development but before bleach-fixing. The iodide may be an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium iodide or the iodide of an organic compound such as methylamine, dicyclohexylamine, pyridine, morpholine or tetramethyl ammonium. The iodide bath may contain buffering agents such as a mixture of sodium acetate and acetic acid, or of disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate and sodium hexametaphosphate.
