A coupling particularly for a well-drill comprises a connector 9 having an internally screw - threaded portion 11 and internal lands 12, 13, and a tubular member 2 provided with lands 7, 8 and an externally screw - threaded portion 6. As shown, the connector 9 is heated and shrunk on to the member 2 and has a shoulder 14 contacted by the end 5 of the member 2.
