Abstract

The invention comprises azo dyes of formula <FORM:0998358/C4-C5/1> wherein A is an aryl radical which may be substituted, B is a phenylene or naphthylene radical which may be substituted and W is a halotriazinyl, halopyrimidinyl, halopyrimidinoyl, halopyrimidine-sulphonyl, haloquinoxalinoyl or haloquinoxaline-sulphonyl radical. The dyes are prepared by treating aminoazo dyes of formula <FORM:0998358/C4-C5/2> with appropriate acylating agents. The dyes may be used to colour cellulose fibres, by the usual reactive dye processes, in yellow shades. Examples are given.
