Abstract

998,137. Spring clips; stud and socket fasteners. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 14, 1963 [Feb. 16, 1962], No. 6153/62. Heading E2B. A resilient substantially channel shaped fastener formed from a single strip of material has a web 43 and two limbs 41, 42 the end of each limb remote from the web having a foot 45, 46 connected by a neck 44 of reduced width as compared with the limb and foot each foot having a leading end and each side of the foot forming an opening 47, 48, 49, 50 adjacent the neck, the prongs of each limb being bent in the same angular sense so as to extend outwardly on opposite sides of the neck. In the construction shown the fastener is used to secure a member 53 to a support 54 the support having two flanges 55 and 56 each of which has a slot 57, 58 respectively to receive the feet. In a modified construction however the fastener has its limbs passed through slots in a support and the feet are engaged by a slotted retainer which holds a member in contact with the support.
