Abstract

989,285. Window frames. B. H. TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. July 10, 1961 [April 12, 1960], No. 12943/60. Heading E1J. [Also in Division B5] An epoxy resin &c. plastic window &c. frame reinforced by glass fibres or other suitable synthetic fibrous material chemically inert, is formed by applying to a hollow former or core of papier mache a wrapping of the glass fibre &c. inserting the wrapped core into a mould and injecting the uncured expoxy resin &c. together with the appropriate plasticisers and accelerators and colouring matter, or other synthetic plastic, to fill the mould and curing the synthetic resin to produce a hollow synthetic plastic bonded one-piece reinforced frame. The frame may incorporate a sill 7 and may be shaped to receive fixed pane 3 and a similarly formed opening light frame 5, the operating mechanism 16, 17, 18 of which may be housed in the hollow members.
