986,458. Container closures; venting containers. E. FRANKEL. Feb. 18, 1963 [March 12, 1962], No. 6391/63. Headings B8T and B8X. An air vent 14 combined with a pouring spout 12 of a container for liquids has an outer end which extends outside the container to a level at or above the level of the liquid 20 in the container when the container is filled and in pouring position. The vent and spout are held in a tapered stopper 10 which plugs an opening in a hollow stopper 18. The air vent pipe may be telescopic, Fig. 3 (not shown), to enable it to be used with a barrel. The device may be of plastics material or metal.
