[Also in Division E2] A retaining clamp for thin-walled plastic drain pipes comprises two handles 2 carrying clamping jaws 1, a cone 3, fitting inside the jaws 1 and attached to a displaceable guide rod 10 to which is attached a retaining chain 7 and an articulated double lever 6. In operation the drain pipe is pushed over the cone 3 and clamped by pressing the double lever 6 against a stop 9. The retaining device is drawn into the ground behind a mole and anchored by the retaining chain 7. A release cable 8 allows the clamp to be released.
