Abstract
A magnetic powder comprising metal or alloy particles whose size is 1000<\>r or less is prepared by evaporating the metal or alloy into an inert atmosphere, e.g. argon, neon, under a pressure between 0.1 and 100 mm. Hg. so that fine particles are formed. Alloy particles may be formed from the alloy directly or from the separate metals. Metals specified are Fe, Co, Ni and alloys thereof. The particles exhibit super-paramagnetic properties.
