Abstract

A Fourdrinier fabric is made in 2/2 twill and has a weft density at least 1.1 times greater than the warp density. The fabric has an open area of 13% to 20%. The warp and the weft knuckles both fall within, 0.0005 inch of flat planes on each surface of the fabric. The fabric also has the weft of a hard metal and the warp of a softer metal.
