Abstract

A belting fabric has strength warp threads 1, protective warp threads 3, a layer of weft threads 4 which form a ply solely with the protective threads 3 and a layer of weft threads 2 which form a second ply with both the strength and protective warp threads 1, 3. In a second embodiment the protective threads 3 pass through the second ply to form a third ply with a further layer of weft threads.
