976,873. Threshing machines. ETABLISSEMENTS BRAUD. Jan. 23, 1961 [Jan. 26, 1960; March 18, 1960], No. 2566/61. Heading A1F. In a threshing machine or combineharvester the screw-elevators 16, 26, for elevating the corn for delivery and the incompletely-thrashed products for recirculation, include portions 18, 28, 30 which serve as separators or for hulling and husking. The final delivery elevator 16 carries the corn from the transverse auger 11 to bagging shoots 20, 23 and rotates in a duct 17 which at its lower end includes a roughened portion 30 serving as an awner, this portion being detachable. The upper part 18 of the duct is perforated and is surrounded by a housing 19 which receives undersized grains for delivery via the shoot 23. A fan 21 creates a countercurrent of air which blows awns, chaff, and husks away through a duct 22. On the other side of the machine, the elevator 26 receives incompletely-threshed products from the dressing screens 12 via the auger 15. These products are further treated between the screw 26 and surface 28 before being fed back into the machine by the blades 29. For ease of transport the elevator 17 is hinged at its mid-point (Fig. 5, not shown).
