[Also in Division E1] In a control body in combination with an hydraulically - operated mine - roof support or chock having a connection C to the chock, an exhaust outlet E, and a socket 22 for an adapter 28, fitted to an hydraulic pressure pipe 20, to be connectible to it, the socket 22 has therein a plunger 23 registering with an adapter valve 30, normally closed under the action of a spring 31 and opened by a cam 25, acting on the plunger 23, operable by a lever 26, to allow a flow through the body 10 from the pressure pipe 20 to the chock. The adapter is held in position by a spring- loaded abutment 33 engaging in a recess therein and the body 10 includes spring- loaded non-return valve 16 to prevent discharge on disconnection of the pressure line. The medium flows through passages 32 and the filter 21 from the body 10, which has a pressure relief valve 11. The valve 30 may be a poppet or ball valve.
