Abstract
963,903. Jacks for advancing mine face conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Sept. 8, 1960 [Sept. 9, 1959], No. 31016/60. Addition to 928,184. Headings B8A and B8J. The apparatus of the parent Specification for advancing a conveyer towards the mine face is modified in that the cylinder 21 of the ram 20, 21 for advancing the conveyer 11 is pivotally mounted on the strap 27 connecting roof-supporting frames 18, 23, and the piston rod 21 projects from both ends of the cylinder and is located between plates 22 on a T-section rail 19 pivotally connected by pins 19<SP>11</SP> to the roof support frame 18. The frame 23 comprises a base plate 24 and hydraulic props 25, 26 and is connected to the strap 27 by a ram 31, 32, the cylinder 31 of which is secured to the frame and the piston rod 32 being pivotally connected to one end of the strap. The other end of the strap 27 is provided with rollers 28 running on the flanges of the rail 19 and mounted on an axle extending through a slot 29 in the web of the rail. The conveyer can be moved parallel to the mine face 36A by step-by-step movement of the frames 18, 23 under the action of ram 31, 32 as described in the parent Specification.
