Abstract
963,236. Soil stabilization. MITCHELL CONSTRUCTION CO. Ltd., and T. J. O'BRIEN. June 26, 1963 [July 3, 1962], No. 25548/62. Heading E1F. The principal constituents of a grout for use in soil stabilization are water, bentonite clay, alkali silicate, and finely-ground basic blast furnace slag. The slag is in a proportion sufficient at least to react with the available silicate. Preferably the slag is by weight between 40 to 100% to the weight of the clay, whilst the silicate is sodium silicate and is present within 0À5 to 6% by weight of the water. A pestising agent, such as sodium phosphate, in a proportion within the same range as the silicate.
