Abstract

962,138. Stays. WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd. July 26, 1962 [Aug. 18, 1961], No. 29848/61. Heading E2F. An arm 11 is adapted to be pivotally mounted at one end on a hinged door 15 or its supporting structure 10 and has at its other end a laterally extending projection 12 engaged in a slotted guide 14 adapted to be mounted on the other of these parts, the arrangement being such that as the door is opened the projection moves along the slot until it engages a cam surface 16a on a spring loaded lever 16 pivotally mounted on the guide and then becomes releasably retained in a recess 16b in the lever to hold the door in an open position. The lever is preferably of bell-crank form arranged so that the spring 17 acts on the end opposite to the cam surface 16a. The projection 12 is a stud with an enlarged head which may be provided with a cap of synthetic resin.
