Abstract

957,162. Measuring length. COTTON, SILK & MAN MADE FIBRES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. June 27,1960 [July 10, 1959], No. 23713/59. Addition to 957, 161. Heading G1M. In an article feeding machine according to the parent Specification a switch means is provided to operate an ejector 15 when a bobbin 12 being fed departs prematurely from a straight line contour. The bobbins 12 pass along a conveyer 11 and operate switches 13a, 13b, 13c which are normally shut, open and shut respectively. A short bobbin or a faulty bobbin, Figs. 2d, 2b causes switches 13a, 13b, 13c to be simultaneously in the shut position thus energizing solenoid 14 to operate ejector 15 whereas for a correct bobbin Fig. 2a the switches are not simultaneously shut. In an alternative device only one switch is provided. This switch is associated with a timing device, the ejector being operated if the switch is released before a given time.
