An interior sprung mattress has applied over the top and bottom of the spring interior a sheet of hessian carrying a layer of coir fibre over which is a layer of cotton felt and over the felt a layer of polyetherbased urethane foam, a ticking cover being applied over the layers and having a flystrip stitched thereto and secured by hog rings to intermediate points on the springs to tension the cover.
