828,647. Covers for card &c. tables. BRITISH QUILTING CO. Ltd. July 23, 1958 [May 28, 1957]. No. 16851/57. Class 52(5) A detachable cover A for a card table comprises a sheet B of a flexible plastic or waterproof textile fabric connected by stitching D to an underlayer C of a synthetic sponge such as polyurethane foam, and to a dependent flexible border F by stitching E which also anchors elastic bands K stretching across the underside of the table top H. The border formed of a single strip, or several strips joined end to end, preferably consists of the impervious material forming the outer sheet B only. In modifications the elastic strips extend across the comers of the cover A or the free endge of the border is elasticated partly or entirely by an elastic thread stitched thereto.
