947,802. Control of A.C. motors. CONSTRUCTA-WERKE G.m.b.H. March 30, 1961 [April 7, 1960], No. 11730/61. Heading H2J. [Also in Division D1] During washing and/or rinsing processes in a washing machine the running-up time of a 3-phase star-connected induction motor driving a washing drum is lengthened by disconnecting one line and connecting a condenser 11 across two phases of the stator winding 10, as shown. Contacts 14, 15 are opened and closed respectively, by a cam 13 in a programme regulator (not shown), this condition being reversed for normal operation of the motor during a spin-drying process. The motor may be reversed by a switch 17, operated by a cam 16 in the programme regulator, which changes the connections of two lines.
