Abstract

946,238. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 16, 1960 [May 19, 1959], No. 17208/60. Heading B4B. A detachable shaving head 2 of a dry shaver is secured to the casing 1 by engagement of one end of a cantilever spring 9, 10 in a slot 5 in a stud 4 provided on the head, the other end of the spring being secured to the casing. As shown, the head has two apertured shear plates 3, drive shafts 8 for co-operating rotatable cutting members passing through a cut hair chamber 6 into which the studs 4 project and which has openable flaps 22 for hand manipulation of the free ends 20, 21 of the springs into and out of the inwardly facing slots 5. The springs may be wire or leaf springs and the ends 11, 12 of the springs are secured by screws 13, 14 to the base 7 of the cut hair chamber.
