933,915. Ventilators. P. G. FITT. Nov. 14, 1960 [Nov. 12, 1959], No. 38340/59. Class 137. An air diffuser comprises a tubular duct 10 supporting a baffle 12 from arms 9 and a member 14 which is movable from a closed position as shown in the Figure to an operative position as shown in dotted lines in which case ambient air is induced from the room through passage 22 to mix with the air supply. The member has a lip 15 which, it is stated, avoids stratification of warm air adjacent the ceiling, and moves by virtue of a slot 18 in a sleeve 17 attached to member 14 by bars 16 sliding over a pin 20 fixed to the duct. A friction ring 19 is interposed between the sleeve and the duct. The lip 15 may be curved to merge smoothly with the part 14. Specification 933,911 is referred to.
