Abstract
933,126. Agitating liquids. A. R. J. LJUNGGREN. Jan. 22, 1962 [Jan. 21, 1961], No. 2172/62. Class 86. [Also in Group XIII] Stirring apparatus, e.g. for cooling and stirring milk in transport cans (see Group XIII) comprises stirrer consisting of a central tube 5 for the downward flow of cooling water and side tubes 6 for the returning cooling water, the stirrer being pivoted in a bearing housing 2b mounted on the upper portion of the can 1 and being driven by a turbine wheel 4 actuated by the flow of cooling water. The side tubes 6 are arranged in the form of a ring and are connected at their lower ends by means of a circular distribution box 7. As shown, cooling water is directed through hose 14 and down tube 5 via hollow shaft 10 into distribution box 7. It then flows upwards through tubes 6, into channels 8 and out through nozzles 9, thereby causing the stirrer to rotate. The distribution box 7 is made of relatively thick material so that it acts as a flywheel.
